“Cosby Show Actress Passed Away”

Clarice Taylor, who played Bill Cosby’s mother on The Cosby Show, died on Monday at age 93 of heart failure. The Emmy nominated actress was surrounded by friends and family.

A performer on stage, radio, TV and film for over five decades, the actress was a member of the New York stage group, the Negro Ensemble Company, and helped to pave the way for African-American actors in the early 1960s.

Taylor is survived by her two sons, William and James, and her five grandchildren.

  1. Ms. Taylor gave the world a view of our true life black grandmothers that display grace, patience and love.

    Morning fam

  2. RIP Clarice Taylor I will remember you fondly from the Cosby show. I always enjoyed watching you.

  3. I remember first seeing Clarice Taylor on Sesame Street. She seemed to live a full life. She always conducted herself with such class and I admired that about her.

My prayers are with her family.

  4. 😦 So sorry to hear of her passing. Just last week my sister and I were talking about cooking a special dinner, when we thought and laughed when Ms Taylor was on Sandford & Sons. Her character was cousin Emma, slick, lazy and full of excuses for free loading off of Lamont while Fred was away. She promised Lamont “a nice meal” for about a week, yet she kept coming up with excuses after excuse with ailing back pain…lol… Lamont finally had to make up a reason to get her to packing…. Funny as hell.

  5. She was in some of my fav episodes…when the grandparents were visiting. They’d often do Musical lip syncs. May she RIP.

  6. What an awesome lady and actress. She will be missed not only by her family but by those who loved to watch her on the big screen. She was blessed as were we, rest in peace.
