The black man who beat a Hispanic woman into a coma during an argument over a parking space in Manhattan, now wishes he’d just let her hit him.
Oscar Fuller, a 35-year-old, 150-pound father of two, is now claiming self-defense.
He says Lana Rosas hit him first before he landed a punch on her jaw, sending the 4ft 11in, 100 pound woman crumpling to the ground. The punch knocked 25-year-old Rosas out cold as she hit her head on the concrete. She has been in a coma at Bellevue Hospital ever since the February 25 incident.
The argument ensued when Fuller steered his Plymouth Voyager into a parking space in East Village only to find Rosas standing there holding the space for her boyfriend, Joseph Oliver, who was making a U-turn across the street. When Rosas refused to move and let Fuller have the parking spot, he got out of his car to confront her.
Fuller was charged with felony assault and released on $100,000 bond during a court hearing yesterday. He’s now expressing regret for ever laying hands on the
woman for his cowardly behavior, all over a parking spot.
Despite expressing regret and remorse, it was a different Fuller who attempted to get away after the incident. Luckily, a citizen witnessed the incident and wrote down his license plate number.
He has prior arrests for assault and drug possession. Fuller’s next court date is on April 7.

it reminds me of a similar case many years ago in the atl where a boy sucker-punched another boy at a bus stop. the boy hit the curb and died. the sucker-puncher (boy)pretty much got “convicted of murder”.
with a prior assault charge, i would have made his bond as high as possible.

Witnesses say she hit him. It’s not ok for anyone to put their hands on another person whether they’re a man or a woman.
And if the situation wasn’t that serious why didn’t she just move? Why start hitting a complete stranger over a parking spot and expect them not to react?

This guy was wrong for putting his hands on this woman but she was ALSO WRONG for throwing the first blow and holding a parking space that rightfully did not belong to her. Use a parking garage. The problem is that he got out of the car and approached her. Believe it or not, her lawyer will be able to convince any jury that, that action was a threat. why, you ask? Because it, in fact was a threat. She didn’t drag him out of the car hitting on him. He could have had a knife, gun, anything. Only a bully approaches a woman to argue. He knew that woman fell to the ground.
He left the scene of a crime with no remorse and to say it was self defense on national tv was an idiot move. Your lawyer just set you up. You are not smart enough to commit a crime and get away with it dude. Please believe it.

If my life, or the life of my children/loved one was in danger, I’d use whatever method I could to protect myself/them. If someone comes at me or mine with a knife, I’m gonna shoot their azzes. If someone slaps me, I wouldn’t have the right to use excessive force.

Yvonne, right there are consequences to our actions, and his may be prison. Again, was a damn parking space worth it? If she hit him, she had no right to do so. I do not believe women should hit men either; however, society sees that as not as serious as a man hitting a woman. In fact, women hitting men is gloried. Is it right? Newsflash: it feels the EXACT same way when a woman slaps the $hit out of another woman as it does when she slaps the $hit out of another man and I’m not sure who told women that your hand feels differently as it glides across a goatee, so, why do women get to IMMEDIATELY start swinging and get a pass, but men have to have the wherewithal to THINK first?
If someone HITS you, you may very well act first and think later – why do women get a pass for “losing it” and then ACTING bad enough to swing on a grown a$$ man knowing she can’t win, but he’s not afforded the same right when he LOSES it, ACTS and swings BACK – knowing she can’t win?

IF this woman hit him and he hit her back, this is not as simple as, “a man hits a woman”… this is about a woman attacking a MAN and being reminded that she attacked a man!
How this turned into a “black male” issue is beyond me. THIS black man’s actions are no more indicative of black men as a unit as Da Brat’s actions are idicative of black lesbians.

I just can see certain things for what they are and not what I wish they were.

She was hitting him?? Where is his black eye? cuts? bruises? BULLY. That’s what he is. He wouldn’t have done that to a man. I am sure she felt intimidated by him. She was probably shocked that he got out of the car and thought he had a knife or a gun.
