“Homeless Man Offered Job With Radio Station”

His name is Ted Williams and he’s homeless!

Williams was soliciting money by the side of Interstate 71 in Columbus, Ohio, when a reporter from the Columbus Dispatch spotted his sign advertising his “god given gift” of a golden voice.

Williams was offered a job with a local radio station in Columbus, after a viral video he did garnered over 4 million hits on YouTube.

The reporter uploaded a video he made on his cell phone of Williams speaking, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Thanks to my Crony and loyal CEO reader “ZP” for the video. 🙂

  1. I just read that on yahoo. He does sound like a radio personality. He said he was an ex-broadcaster who turned to drugs and such? He’s two years clean he says so I wish him the best!

  9. this story is all well and good, but we cant say oh God this and God that.. when there are people that are struggling now and will die struggling.

    1. What do we say then? Are you saying Don’t give God the credit, because OTHER people are still struggling? Not instigating an E-war hear…just seeking clarity on your comment

      1. I can appreciate that. And like you, I am not a religious person. I think we would have to come to a mutual understanding of the word STRUGGLE. Earth Quakes, Famine and plagues…are those struggles?

This story and storeis of this nature allows me to grow in awareness that there is a higher force in our lives..and that force has no respect of person. I could of course go on to give the standard greeting of “God gives us all free will” and so on and so on…I could also add that some things happen for a reason…these are typical responses to someone that stands out on the limb to ask “Where is God in Everyone Else’s Life”…but I am not preaching. I will say this: …There is GOD amongst us.

I’m struggling right not without a job, but I still thank God everyday for keeping me alive, for having supporting friends and family. Just because you’re struggling doesn’t mean give up, some people don’t even believe in God but don’t knock those that do.

      1. You know Tamala… thats why im not super or an overly religious person because of the hypocrisy that takes place. its just if this one man can thank God as he has done, what do the other struggling folks do? what are they doing wrong? where is their miracle?
im just tired of the human suffering period, and if God plans on doing something about it, he needs to hurry up

In watching the news and reading some of the personal stories posted on this blog in the comment section, you have to recognize that things could always be so much worse than they already are. The way I see it, we are all one bad decision away from becoming a drunk, drug addict or homeless for that matter. Regardless of your circumstance, keep giving God genuine praise and thanks; your situation will turn around (in His perfect timing of course)and NEVER, EVER give up. Remember, you haven’t really lived life unless you have a testimony to give. Hopping off my soapbox now, just felt someone needed to hear that…..

BUT what about the ABUNDANCE of Individuals with TRUE Talent that has always lived their life in a NON-Destructive Manner that Purposely & Systematically get screwed over and can never catch their DESERVING BREAK IN LIFE (Just A Thought…)

I don’t think he’s overcome his vices. He just doesn’t have any cash to support his vices. He used to be a radio announcer in the past. We’ll see if he stays clean now that he’s flush with cash.

There are so many people with dreams on becoming the next Beyonce, Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan, etc. Although that may be YOUR individual plan, who’s to say that’s God plan for you?

  14. Hello All. Every morning, I wake up to channel 4 DC news. For the past 20 yrs or so, at least 3 of the lead stories are about blacks killing other blacks, or some other homicide story. (I was in Norfolk this summer, same thing, another channel.) That’s why this human interest story is so refreshing. I wish I could wake up every morning to a good story. Truth be told, I can’t wait til I retire and move from this city of politics. It can wear you down. Peace.

  17. The fact that he had that great gift, yet people still abandoned him, tells me that he’s probably a manipulator who used everybody in his life

    Like

    1. Why are there so many haters in the world? Why does he have to be the Manipulator? Why couldn’t it be his family that maybe abused him growing up and abandoned him. Maybe he tried to do something better with himself but THE DEPRESSION and loneliness became to much FOR him to deal with and the drove him to the edge. I swear..smh!

      1. XMen, you’re entitled to your opinion and your theory…just like i’m entitled to mine, still doesn’t negate the fact that, he could have been a manipulator at one time or another. People will do what they have to in order to survive, even after being driven ‘over the edge’
