“Obama Praises Eagles Owner”

For giving Michael Vick a second chance.

Now that Michael Vick has led the Eagles to an impressive 10-4 record, everyone — including the president of the United States — has forgiven him for his past transgressions.

The Internet is buzzing about a phone call that Obama placed to Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie praising him for giving Michael Vick a second chance.

Mel (pictured above left) is one of the unfortunate dogs who didn’t measure up to Vick’s brutal standards. Vick beat Mel daily to toughen him up. But Mel failed to display that killer instinct in the ring. As a result, he was mauled nearly to death by the other dogs.

Instead of nursing the injured Mel back to health, Vick threw the terrified animal back into the ring with ferocious dogs to be used as bait — a sort of sparring partner for the tougher dogs. Mel was sometimes even muzzled so he wouldn’t fight back.

    1. On another note…I’m sorry, I’m with Civil. I don’t give a damn about no damn dogs. People manslaughter, kill, and rape PEOPLE and sometimes get less time/punishment than Vick served and sometimes none at all.

      Fuck a dog.

    2. But I’m with Civil on this one…people serve less time and return to society after defiling and murdering humans. I feel bad for the dog but its a dog…

  1. He did his time that the government (not Obama) set aside for him. They said he should do that and he did it. Move on world. People do worse than that and jump back in society like nothing ever happened. #That is all

  2. Am I the only person not shocked about Vick’s treatment of fighting dogs and that no longer cares?

Some dogs have more of a “prey drive” than others. The ones with lesser “prey drive” are used as bait to further train the more aggressive dogs. That’s how it works. Everyone knew that so why are they trying to make a “story” out of fighting dog training techniques that have been known for centuries?

    *NEW POST PLEASE*

  3. poor puppy. If I was Obama, I don’t think I would have said anything about Vick. Yes he has served his time and seems remorseful but as the President its certain things you just can’t say or do. I wonder what PETA thinks about Obama’s gesture?

  6. Both Vick and Marion Jones spent their entire sentences in prison from their first conviction. Hell Marion Jones had just given birth!!

    1. that whole Marion Jones thing hurt my heart! that was my second ex wife

@Civil, I just can’t see why people are so judgemental that they feel like second chances are not meant for everybody. Knowing good and well you have needed at least a couple second chances in your perfect on the outside filthy on the inside life.

  7. I don’t need to read that article. I saw the Michael Vick dogs episode of Dog Town. It was very sad. Mike was a stone cold idiot even before we learned of the dogfighting. He was beagging for an azz whoopin and he got it. I think his fall from grace was a gift from God. He has learned from it and is reaching out to the community to be used as an example of how not to be. He is a better man than he was. Do you think he should never be forgiven? And why are they allowing poor Mel to live in fear? They could put him to sleep like they do Pitbulls across the country everyday for no reason at all.

  8. Dog fighting is cruel but why do we condone humans fighting each other for sport? I know humans have a choice but it’s still sad for me to watch. My crush on Mike Vick allows me to forgive him and root for him to do better in the future.

  9. I could care less about that damn dog. To me it seems like a black mans life is worth less than the life of a dog. Vick got more time than the cop that shot and killed Oscar Grant. Shoot they eat dogs in Asia but Michael Vick shouldn’t be able to have a sustainable career cuz he killed a few dogs?? Too many people stigmatize ex convicts that why the system is rife with repeat offenders. Hardly anyone is willing to give them a second chance.

  10. I think it’s messed up to do something that horrid to ANY living thing. Be it a human or animal. Self defense is one thing but, to maim something that has to live with what you’ve done to it or to constantly abuse it just for the hell of it, your enjoyment or whatever is just F’d up, imo.

  11. Hello All. First of all, show me in the Bible where Jesus, our Lord and Saviour, instructed us to love our dogs/pets more than our neighbors? SHOW ME(Where is Rezzie when I need her?) Truth be told, white Americans love their dogs more than they love us colored folks. Further more, Vick has paid dearly for his mistakes, sent to a fed prison for fighting some damn vicious pit bulls! Not poodles, not teacups but PIT BULLS! The other day I was watching Wives of Beverly Hills and they were at dinner at a 60,000 sq ft mansion and one man had his dog at the dinner table! A damn dog at a formal dinner table and he wasn’t a seeing eye one either! NASTY!!! One last note:
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE ME SOME MICHAEL VICK, MORE THAN I LOVE ME SOME DOGS, with his fine ass self! And I’ve had my German Shepard for 14 yrs, since she was a pup. I love her dearly but I love ya’ll more! Peaceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

  12. I am happy Vick has done his time and can move on.

I grew up w/ boys that fought pits and back then all the cops would do is take the dogs away and put them in the pound.
The boys would go and break in to the pound and get the dogs back.
It was a cycle that went on for a few years. Its crazy how times have changed!!!
