“No Homosexual Couples Allowed!”

A Christian hotel denied a gay couple reservations in their hotel and now the hotel is being sued.

The Chymorva Private Hotel in Cornwall, U.K., have a deep christian policy with regard to marriage (being the union of one man to one woman for life to the exclusion of all others). Therefore their accommodations are not available to unmarried couples.

In September 2008, civil partners Steven Preddy and Martyn Hall reserved a double room at the hotel, when the hotel’s manager “realized that the booking had not been made for a heterosexual couple,” their hotel reservation was cancelled, according to a Christian Post article. This policy of their’s have been in effect since the hotel was established in 1986.

The hotel owner’s business, doubles as their home as well as a hotel.

What’s your opinion Ceo readers, does the hotel have a right to decide who stays in their rooms??

  1. guests from all walks of life as far as age, race, color, religious beliefs, gender, sexual preference etc..etc.. goes.

Their job is to make the guests feel welcomed/comfortable & provide an outstanding customer service experience to make them want to come back which =more $$$

    1. yes its their belief @yasha – but its also THEIR business lol.
so they can choose to refuse service legally, the couple should have picked a hotel that coinsided with their beliefs.

I see what you’re saying. When it comes to business and bringing in money, personal beliefs and opinions usually need to go out the window.

    3. @Daisy, you should value your principles over money, cuz if you don’t.. you would probably sell your soul to the devil if the opportunity presented itself..just a sidenote.

  2. Ok,so let me get this straight,a gay person/couple has to ask hotel management if it’s ok for them to stay there? LOL

The hospitality business is NOT for these people then..SMH!

  3. They disagree with homosexuality and so do I, but denying them service is just wrong. They’re customers like everybody else and deserve the same treatment everybody else does. Regardless of sexuality. So what if it’s their business? It’s discrimination. They suck for this.
*side note and fyi* I’m a Christian 2. now what?

    1. Who da fuck would put down a reservation for a “Steven and Martyn”??? You couldn’t tell this was two men? BUT it is their house and their website stats that only married couples will be accomodated with a double bed. The lawsuit should be thrown out.

BTW @man – I just have to say that the pic with two men in bed just looks soooo UNnatural….just sayin….

  4. As a Christian I believe all people are equal and deserve the same rights. Most homophobes are racist too so I hope they shut that hotel down. In my opinion people who hate gays are down low gay themselves otherwise why would you care.

  5. These people dont want gays in their establishment. im not saying that i agree with any of this. discrimination of any kind is wrong. and i bet the couple that owns this hotel don’t follow every biblical rule/and or principle to the fullest⁄

    1. what are you talking about, nobody can follow all the rules of the bible to the fullest, because no one is perfect. they didnt say they were perfect they said they only wanted heterosexual couples(I dont know if thats how jesus would do it) but they never claimed to follow every rule of the bible. WHY DO PEOPLE THINK THAT CHRISTIANS THINK THEY ARE PERFECT, NO ONES CLAIMING THAT!!!

  6. Hey why not go stay somewhere else I mean they are not the only hotel they could of gone to. I mean if thats their beliefs, that’s their beliefs and their hotel, if they lose money..that’s their hotel. Just like homosexuals dont want to be/and shouldnt be forced into being christian, Christians should not be/and forced to accept the homosexual lifestyle.

  7. it’s their personal home and business so they have a right to say whatever. if people don’t like it then there are plenty other places to stay. i’m just curious how they verify everyone’s status. not many travel with their marriage certificate…

      Olivijah,
      I do my best!

I commend the owners of this hotel though for not having a “compromising Spirit”…You can’t and you shouldn’t compromise your beliefs in exchange for or in order to/make money. It’s not of God…If HE can’t make the way, then the way won’t be made!!!

    3. As long as your tax dollars don’t support the operations of that hotel, they can create any rules they want. If you don’t like it, you still have options, if you know the rules and still go ahead with reservations then don’t complain. just keep it moving!

Well said Ms, Bell from a biblical perspective.

  8. Their home their rules; I don’t see anything wrong with what they did. Same apply if they did not want anyone but whites to rent; it’s their home. It is not an establish hotel chain.

  9. It is not just their business. It is also their home and if they don’t want 2 men having sex down the hall from their bedroom, they have every right to say so. The hotel according to it’s website, is also for married couples ONLY. Which part of that didn’t these guys get.
