“Charles Rangel In The Hot Seat This Week”

And his 50 years of public service is on the line, as he is accused of 13 counts of financial and fundraising misconduct that violated House rules.

The former Ways and Means Committee chairman made an impassioned opening statement that said he ran out of money to pay his previous attorneys after spending nearly $2 million on attorney fees. Now the embattled chairman is representing himself in the proceedings.

Rangel, 80, is a 20-term Democrat from New York, who if the panel finds that he broke the rules, the House ethics panel could recommend that the House vote to condemn Rangel’s conduct.

Rangel admitted to making “mistakes” but insisted he never crossed the line to full-blown corruption.

        I’m lol, because I did say that and you remembered? I had dinner in the same spots (2 different) ones on Fri and Sat nights but I’ve written post about both of these restaurants before.

        I’m sorry Donte & Ashanti, haven’t had time lately to really eat out at some new recommendations but hopefully that will change soon.

        I will list my all-time favorite place by the end of the year.

  17. That is particularly amusing when you consider that one of the issues the committee is examining is his misuse of campaign funds to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees. Another proud day for African Americans. Rangel is a punk crook who is using the old “whitey is out to get me cause I am black” excuse. Kick him out of the Congress and send him to die in prison.
