“Whoopi & Joy Walk Out On Bill O’Reilly”

The conversation got heated on the View this morning, as the women were in a discussion with Bill O’Reilly concerning the proposed Islamic cultural center near Ground Zero.

Clearly Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar are stark supporters of President Obama because the minute O’Reilly said: “President Obama’s qualified support of the center was evidence of the “gulf” between him and the American people” well those were fighten words as the women strongly disagreed with O’Reilly’s claim.

Don’t get me wrong, the President had every right to voice his opinion regarding the controversy surrounding this mosque near ground zero, as Behar shot back “This is America!” and there is a such thing as freedom of speech.

“Listen to me because you’ll learn!” O’Reilly interrupted with his arrogant ass.

“We’re Americans! We agree with him!” Behar added.

“70% of Americans don’t want that mosque there. So don’t give me the we business!” O’Reilly replied.

More heated crosstalk followed, until O’Reilly said, “Muslims killed us on 9/11!” That really set Behar and Goldberg off.

“Oh my God!” Behar said.

“That is such bullshit!” Goldberg said. “Extremists did that!”

Finally both ladies walked off on O’Reilly, don’t believe me? Check out the video (if you care) and see for yourself.

  1. they discovered that conversing with o’riley is comparable to conversing with a brick.
I commend them, and more people should do the same.

  2. If Barbara Wawa had stepped in sooner and said what she said to O’Reilly when he spewed that BullShit, Whoopi and Joy would not have had listen to his bogoted drivel.

  3. The 9/11 hijackers should be seen as and equivalent to the K K K.
The K K K & other White supremacy groups consider themselves God fearing Christians who are defending the heritage of the United States. Yet, the KKK bombed a Christian church where four teen girls were killed. They lynched innocent Black men for the folly of mobs of White people.
Should we blame Christians for these atrocities? Should we blame all Muslims for what a group of thugs did on 9/11? GTFOH O’Dick-head???.

      1. @Joanne, I agree…I think it’s a shame they walked off stage, i would of chewed dat azz up and spit him out!!!!

      2. They shouldn’t’ve walked @Joanne, I agree.
His whole thing is to evoke an emotional (not intellectual) response from both sides of every argument.
The hosts at the view (credit to Barbara Walters) should all realize that and rise above it.

      3. I co-sign @Joanne, I just wished they had stayed there long enough to ask him about Timothy McVeigh and the Unibomber and the Anthrax dude…

“They did that too us,” and they aren’t Muslim.

      6. I think I missed the “debate” part. I was too busy concetrating on the fact that, he insulted an entire religion.

      7. @Daisy,Man & Joanne – O’Reilly was really condescending to the women on the view, as he is to anyone who disagrees with him. So IDK, the women had every right to walk out of a shouting match when someone is insulting their intelligence IMO.

      8. F8ck that shit, i would have bounced too.

MUSLIMS ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR 9/11…EXTREMIST ARE! Screw that bullshit. People kill me. Christians have been using the mask of their religion to murder, rape, and enslave. Does that make Christianity a barbaric religion? No, it’s human nature that use the strings of religion to destroy humanity.

    3. yes @ all, his commet was a stupid azz one for which he later apologized.
But regardless, the better, more adult thing to do would have been to sit there and tell him how wrong and stupid he was for saying it.

  4. Even if the 70% figure is accurate, it doesn’t matter. Minority rights, such as religious freedom, aren’t subject to a mjaority vote.

  5. Why don’t we blame Christians for the Oklahoma City bombing or for all the lynchings in the South over the years? Because all Christians don’t believe in those radical actions.

    Draw the parallel Bill!

  6. It is truly sad to realize that a country based upon religious freedom, immigration and at least the illusion of freedom is just as racist and suspicious as other countries. It makes absolutely no sense.

  7. Even though I’m not a fan, Bill O is right. Majority of Americans don’t want a mosque there. I believe the President’s heart is in the right place but, on this issue he proved himself to be a bit of an ideologue and it definitely did not help him or his party politically. IMHO, it was not the opponents who need to show restraint and tolerance but rather the people behind the cultural center given how sacred this area is to Americans (and yes I understand it is not technically on ground zero)

    1. “(and yes I understand it is not technically on ground zero)”

@BBB, exactly!!! It’s not a mosque. It’s a community center with a prayer room, and it’s not at Ground Zero.

      1. And the Oklahoma City bombing was done by a Christian. That’s a fact. Should we no longer build churches near federal buildings? I mean really…

      2. We were attacked by “Humans”. That’s a fact. I’d say we better not let “people” anywhere near ground zero!

    2. @BlackButterFlies, there is already a mosque even closer to Ground Zero it has been there for 40 years or more, and also, that supposed “mosque” is an interfaith community center.

  8. Again! The poll he mentioned only interviewed a little over 1000 people! Since when do, that few speak for 350,000,000 plus people who are citizens? FYI – I lost family and friends in those towers, watching people shred our Constitution because of their bigotry is heartbreaking!

    2. if a guest is rude and obnoxious, is the host obligated to stifle natural inclinations to hit him or should they walk off to cool down?
    3. was it all a stunt?

    1. @Nicole, McVeigh was not a Christian.

“In his letter, McVeigh said “he was an agnostic but that he would “improvise, adapt and overcome”, if it turned out there was an afterlife.

“If I’m going to hell,” he wrote, “I’m gonna have a lot of company.” His body is to be cremated and his ashes scattered in a secret location.”

  10. O’Reilly is an agitator. He knows that it is not muslims that did 9/11. It was terrorists that happened to be muslims. Much like it was not Christians that destroyed the Murrow building in OKlahoma. So by saying what he did O’Reilly got what he wanted, a reaction. I think Barbara approached it the right way, and O’Reilly had to SHUT UP and back off of his stupid, fear mongering rant.

  11. I am sick and tired of race-baiting bigots like O’Reilly claiming he speaks for Americans. There is a long list of issues that the American people have been on the wrong side of history and this is one of them.

Comparing moderate Muslims to AQ is the same as comparing the_Klan to moderate Christians. But the reactionaries like O’Reilly are only interested in spreading their toxic worldview to as many people as possible.

    1. Adam, Civil Rights was not subject to a poll and neither should this issue be influenced by it. I am truly sorry there are so many Americans so broken by fear that they cower at the thought of this building but it is time that strength prevail.

They meet the zoning. They own the land. They have the money to build their center. Religion has NOTHING to do with it. We have a secular government that doesn’t embrace religion.

Which means it also doesn’t punish it……

And frankly Joy Behar has become more and more like the new Rosie on the show, maybe it’s time for her to take her decidedly one sided Democratic opinions and leave the show.

  16. Bill O’Reilly is not right … this particular conversation, he said emphatically that Muslims caused 911. That is completely wrong. Terrorists and religious extremists caused 911. He sounded so ignorant and prejugdice. I will say that having a mosque near Ground Zero is politically incorrect, but only due to the public’s ignorance about Islam and due to extreme hatred like Mr. O’Reilly displayed on The View.
