Dwayne Wade’s Ex-wife Siohvaughn, is being forced to have a psychiatric evaluation.
Lester L. Barclay, the appointed attorney to look out for the best interest of Wade’s children during the ongoing custody trial; said “Siovaughn Wade needs a check up from the neck up”.
According to new documents filed in Chicago the attorney claims, “There is a question being raised as to the mental condition and violent tendencies” of Siohvaughn Wade.
Now I know how some women tend to be vindictive and bitter after the break-up with their children’s father, but Barclay concluded that Siohvaughn has both “homicidal” and “suicidal” tendencies.
In the meantime… Barclay is asking the court to force Siohvaughn to undergo a psychiatric evaluation with a court-approved psychiatrist and wants their two kids to remain with Dwyane while the trial continues.

Family court favors the mother in the majority of cases, especially one like this where the father would be on the road for half the year. It makes more sense for her to have the children, unless something is wrong. And when the judge has to issue a bench warrant because you don’t show up for court, and you run through 8 or 9 divorce attorneys, that says more about her than it does D-Wade. The psychiatrist FOR THE CHILDREN thinks she needs to be evaluated. So there is clearly a problem.

If so, this should have been a Red flag when DWade was dating her. Maybe it was but he kept dating her b/c he felt he owed her something & thought overtime things would change and/or get better.

It is a typical rich man’s tactic to charge the exwife with being “crazy” as a form of damage control. It’s just that black men don’t have as much experience with doing this as white men. They have been doing this to control their ex-wives from time immemorial. Now rich black men and even your average black men are getting into the mix to protect their pocket books after the divorce, instead of conceding to the exspouse (usually because there’s no money to pay a fancy lawyer, or no assets to fight over). And noncustodial parents cannot just walk away from child support any more. So they are are fighting for joint custody (to lower those payments or eliminate them altogether) and even trying to take the children away from mothers who were the primary parent during the marriage with sudden post divorce allegations. Like “she’s crazy.”
I don’t hate men, I am a custody lawyer so I see this phenomenon every day. It’s called “father’s rights.”
I represent both mothers and fathers and I have definitely seen some terrible stories of mothers interfering in good father’s visitation and custody rights. But more commonly today, you see men taking advantage of the system in order to avoid paying child support. A good lawyer knows you have to build a case to do this. With many women either clueless to what’s going on, or having left themselves open to these tactics if there is a divorce, the men are winning. I’m making the point that the mother in these cases was the primary parent with no complaints before, but as soon as a divorce is taking place, now she’s unfit.

The woman in that situation has to behave LIKE SHE IS PURE AS THE DRIVEN SNOW. She cannot do ANYTHING or have any vulnerabilities that cannot be explained or she is in trouble.

Court evaluators, even psychiatrists, are just people. I see skewed, fcuked up evaluations ALL DAY LONG.
If Siovaughn went into the evaluation acting like it was a confessional, and not saying the right things, even though she is not really crazy, just justifiably angry at the situation, ALL DAY LONG she will get this kind of result.

Again family court is unbelievable biased. If there’s a dispute, it’s okay for the man to date. In fact, it can help him. Because it will look like he is stable and normal and of course he has a woman. The wife is just scorned and can’t move on. And so on.
But if the woman dates. OMG–she is a slut, unfit mother, and so on.
Yes, in 2010, this kind of stuff still goes on. It is a dirty secret. This is the stuff of custody battles, and money in lawyers’ pockets.

Its Amazing how you can marry a woman, love her, have kids, break up and be with another chick and all of a sudden your ex is crazy. She wasnt too crazy to keep his kids while he was travelling city to city balling. I dont like this. Mental Health is ignored too much in the black community. It happens, as a result of many things. @Amanda, this depends on when she actually started behaving like this. If she was behaving like this before she married him, then this speaks a lot on D-Wade’s character for actually wifing her.
However, if she started acting this way after this NBA player asked for a divorce, then I view her as a woman scorned.
With that said, D-Wade needs to take some responsibility for the demise of the marriage and her mental state too.
As for as the court appointed attorney, the welfare of the child is not always good in a court appointed attorney hands just as it is not always good for child services to take the child from a parent and put them in foster care.

I’d probably be messed up in the head too if the dude I was with all through HS and college was supported by my family. while his mom was battling crack demons and left him homeless and then he left me with two kids once his dreams were fulfilled. wow

Divorce is difficult! Especially when you have been with someone ALL of your adult life. You don’t marry to divorce. She needs counseling to get through this difficult period and then she needs to have counseling with the children. ALSO it doesn’t help to see D-Wade and Gabby looking great in the media everyday…but she’ll be okay. Its just going to take her some time. My sympathies to everyone involved especially the children.

BEFORE HE BLEW UP, Siohvaughn had started a foundation to help at-risk women from the Shy where they grew up, and they had plans on building a community center back there too. They were grounded and at some point he, or both of them, became ungrounded.
