“Remembering Tupac Shakur”

Today marks the anniversary death of Tupac Shakur.

The West Coast emcee lost his life 14 years ago today after leaving the Mike Tyson – Bruce Seldon boxing match at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

My heart was broken when I heard the news.

To commemorate his memory I highlighted his video “Dear Mama”

  1. The vieo is so sad. His mom is doing everything in her power to keep his memory alive.

Tupac was just so gangsta, I tell you.

But I hope his soul is resting in peace.

    1. I stayed up all night to watch the news that night to see if he was gonna make it, when I found out he died I cried and I cried hard, these rappers today have no idea what rap is. Tupac was on a different level, he mastered his craft he went to school for his craft, he came up and spit some of the sickest rymes, all while telling the truth the truth that noone wanted to hear. He was a genius he still is, noone comes or came close to him.

  8. Shakur’s hit song “Dear Mama” is one of 25 songs that will be added to the National Recording Registry in 2010. The Library of Congress has called “Dear Mama” “a moving and eloquent homage to both the murdered rapper’s own mother and all mothers struggling to maintain a family in the face of addiction, poverty and societal indifference.” This honor comes seven days after his birthday, where the rapper would have been 39. Shakur is the third rapper to enter the library, behind Grandmaster Flash and Public Enemy.

  14. Crazy how much I miss this man as if he was family – I still get sad and teary when I think about him. Music has gone to sh*t and if he was still around I truly believe we wouldn’t be exposed to some of the garbage selling albums today.

  16. he poured his soul out- put his inner demons on wax. From the struggles of being a Fatherless child, his up bringing, his intelligence, poverty, the pressures of the streets, the love & hate relationships, religion, problems w/ America, being Black in America etc. Tupac was/is deep. I remember the day he died like yesterday, a major loss.
