According to ABC News, prominent evangelist Rev. Franklin Graham (son of the elder evangelist Billy Graham) has weighed in on the Barack Obama faith controversy.
The Rev. Franklin Graham waded into the discussion with his own controversial explanation of why people wrongly believe the president is a Muslim. Graham, who prayed with Obama in a session with his father, Billy Graham, earlier this year, was asked whether he has any doubts about Obama’s self-avowed Christian faith.
“I think the president’s problem is that he was born a Muslim, his father was a Muslim. The seed of Islam is passed through the father like the seed of Judaism is passed through the mother. He was born a Muslim, his father gave him an Islamic name,” Graham told CNN’s John King in a televised interview that aired Thursday night.
“Now it’s obvious that the president has renounced the prophet Mohammed, and he has renounced Islam, and he has accepted Jesus Christ. That’s what he says he has done. I cannot say that he hasn’t. So I just have to believe that the president is what he has said,” Graham continued, adding that “the Islamic world sees the president as one of theirs.” Read More…
Who cares? And why should the president’s critics be so consumed with his religious beliefs?
So what, Obama doesn’t have a church home yet? And that he hasn’t attended a church in the 2 years that he has occupied the White House?
For this reason the President’s Christian faith is questioned? I know a whole lot of Christians attending church just for the show of it and don’t have a damn bit of Jesus in their hearts.
I say that to say: going to a building doesn’t make one a christian!

There are already two Mosques that are “near” Ground Zero. One is approximately 12 blocks away, and the other is approx. 5 blocks away. The third was proposed for the extra space that is needed. Also, it is not exactly near Ground Zero, the proposed Mosque is roughly half a dozen normal lower Manhattan blocks from the site of the North Tower, the nearer of the two destroyed in the attacks.

If you knew anything about the Prophet Muhammad you would know that first and foremost he did not push Sharia law on none Muslims. He said and quote “To you be your way and to me be mine!” He was a friend to the Jews and Christians and did not allow injustice to be carried out on them by muslims.
He also in a hadith which is SAHIH (sound) (look up the word) said the following:

Finally a lot of what muslims do in muslim countries are due to their patriarachial society and has nothing to do with ISLAM! Saudi Arabia also bans women from driving but this is not the case in the biggest Muslim country in the world INDONESIA..

I watched a video where the Taliban (sp) had a Muslim woman and her children taken to an arena filled with man. Then her brother was instructed to execute her by cutting her throat as her children watched. The woman allegedly committed adultery. Where was the man who she committed adultery with?
I asked a NOI brother about this and he said that they have to be harder on women because they are the nurturer of the children. If the woman is immoral than the nation will be immoral. Blank stare.

I think any terrorist is crazy and/or brainwashed. But the whole Timothy McVeigh was a Christian is news to me. I thought that he just hated the government because I’m sure 90% of those he killed were Christians. Also the KKK isn’t built on Chrisitanity they are built on racism. Just because someone in born in the US or Europe doesn’t mean they are Christian for all we know most of those members might be atheists because they are totally opposed to what God says the greatest commandment which is love. Same thing for the slave system which was based on greed and hatred of other men (all societies and religions have had slaves and still do). I’m also sure Al-Quaida or any other terrorist group isn’t killing people based on Islam, more about land and hatred for certain countries.

Jesus is seeking to make disciples of men and women – not Jews, Christians, Muslims or any other religion out there. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
Our Heavenly Father and creator is looking for relationship (inward), not religion (outward). And they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth. Selah.

I am not sure if people have already made this comment, because I couldn’t hold my peace to read the comments. My father is a muslim and by no means is Islam a religion that supports violence. Its about peace and submissveness to Allah. I find it funny that Christians are so quick to justify the protesting of this mosque because of the 9/11 terriosts attacks but if my memory serves me correctly 9/11 wasn’t the first terriosts attack in America. Black people were terrorized by the KKK for years. Burning of thriving towns, brutalization of children and women, hanging and castration of men all in the name of Jesus Christ. We also can’t forget Jim Jones and David Koresh who killed in the name of Jesus Christ. Bad people do things like this not the religion. People can contrive anything to work in their favor, just look at the institution of slavery, Black Folks!

We are all born sinners, not Christians or Muslims.
Now, we all may live by a certain set of religious rules and/or beliefs we have either been raised to believe or have decided as informed adults to believe. No religion has any perfect members. All religions have true practicing members, fake half-steppers, and extremeists. All religions believe their doctrine is the only way to get to heaven. Honestly, none of us will ever know until we die, and then it’s too late…unless you’re Buddist or Hindu and believe in the hope of reincarnation.

but on subject, the thing I have with this whole ‘is he or isn’t he?’ issue is the fact we are having to guess and go off hear-say. If the man is a Muslim, why won’t he just come out and say it? It would cut out a lot of confusion and speculation, at least in regards to his religious preference. If he is a Christian, I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t make a difference to the country’s murder rate or ecomony. The pure fact he is unwilling to just clear up the ‘misunderstanding’ is what is unnerving to me. If he can’t even be straight forward about something as simple as saying what his true religious beliefs are, what else is he not being straight forward about? Even though some of us think it’s his private life and his personal decision, he is the most public figure in the world right now, and it is his duty to be as transparent as possible so no one is able to misconstrue any of his actions while in office.

I really am not trying to debate; truly.
We are on two different levels and that is o.k. I really am not trying to start an argument on the ceoblog.com about my faith.
I made a couple of points and that is all. This is why I never commented because it is so time consuming. If we could exchange numbers and speak like two educated African American HUMANS, and take our energy to society then more could be done.
But arguing back and forth on a blog about this is not in my arena. I just wanted to make a couple of points and got caught up. We’re going way off of what my first comment regarded.
2 Timothy says 2:23 says: Don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments because you know they produce quarrels.
We will all know the truth when we die. When we look in the mirror each day we all see a person, that at some point, will no longer be here on earth and whomever we serve will be put to the test when our spirit is released from this flesh.
