Savannah Brinson is profiled in the current issue of Haper’s Bazaar magazine. Here’s what she has to say about issues that don’t really concern her:

On Miami Groupies affecting her relationship:
I’m not worried. We’re good. Our relationship is good.

Her mom adds:
Don’t you think he knows the difference between ruthlessness and love? If LeBron was going to do something shady, he can do that around the corner. He doesn’t have to go to Miami.

On marriage plans, and why a woman with confidence is never impatient:
I’ve definitely not put a fire under his ass I would never rush him to do something like that. We’re really comfortable with the way things are now. And it’s not up to me. When it happens, it happens. We talk about it. If we do it, I want it to be forever. I’m the mother of his children. I’m not a baby mama. There’s a lot more to me than that.

And she DOES NOT control the money…he does. She’s not his wife and I doubt very seriously if she has much control over his finances. African American women have to stop settling for being the “baby mama” or “mother of his children” and start demanding dating, marriage and then children!! I’ll bet anyone $20 that LeBron will marry someone other than her.

  31. Why is she not a baby mama? If he is not marrying her he hedging his bet. He doesn’t want to take himself off the market just in case. But she’s right, there is nothing she can do about it. She has to be his doormat for as long as he will let her because her lifestyle would drop drastically if she had to make it off of child support checks only. So I understand where she is coming from, but the fact remains she is a baby mama.

  46. Savannah probably doesn’t see herself as a baby mama cuz she’s not living the life of a typical baby mama. She travels the world, lives in mansions, hangs out with celebs, been to the White House and etc….

    If LeBron wasn’t happy, he would’ve left already. He has no legal obligation to Savannah other than the kids.

  69. In Steve Harvey’s book Act like a Lady… (even though I felt some of that book was written for women to be submissive to men) he speaks on reasons why men don’t/won’t commit. And while I don’t agree with begging/nagging someone to marry you. I don’t think one should give off the impression that it doesn’t matter either way (unless it really doesn’t which I doubt here). I guess one would have needed to read that chapter to understand what she said falls into that category.

    There HAS to be more to it than that. Maybe there’s unresolved business that must be addressed prior to heading to Miami. Surely, making sure your children attend kindergarten with their friends isn’t the only reason. Coming from a former military brat, kids are resilient. They’ll makes friends and get used to the new area in no time. Hmmmm, nothing like a little distance in locations to make or break a relationship…
