What he said, White House Invitation

Philly Don’t want to go to the President’s party, so he’s making it about the National Anthem!

“The Philadelphia Eagles are unable to come to the White House with their full team to be celebrated,”

Trump said in a “Statement by the President” issued by his press office.

Now why is President Trump saying this? Because only ten (10) players were going to attend.

In a fit of pique over NFL players’ refusal to stand for the national anthem, President Trump called a new play in the culture war by dis-inviting the Philadelphia Eagles from a White House event honoring their Super Bowl win. he’s making it about the flag because they were never going to attend.

“They disagree with their President because he insists that they proudly stand for the national anthem, hand on heart, in honor of the great men and women of our military and the people of our country,” Trump said.

In the meantime Philly mayor Jim Kenney countered Trump’s statement and said

“he is a fragile egomaniac obsessed with crowd size and afraid of the embarrassment of throwing a party to which no one wants to attend.”

No Eagles players sat or kneeled during the national anthem during the regular 2017 football season. But several raised fists or locked arms in protests.

Former Eagles wide receiver Torrey Smith — who caught five passes in the Super Bowl — said Trump’s statement included so many lies.

“Not many people were going to go,” Smith wrote.

Smith — who says his dad served more than 20 years in the Army — added: “The President continues to spread the false narrative that players are anti military.”

Smith said. “The men and women that wanted to go should’ve been able to go. It’s a cowardly act to cancel the celebration because the majority of the people don’t want to see you. To make it about the anthem is foolish.
