“No Homosexual Couples Allowed!”

A Christian hotel denied a gay couple reservations in their hotel and now the hotel is being sued.

The Chymorva Private Hotel in Cornwall, U.K., have a deep christian policy with regard to marriage (being the union of one man to one woman for life to the exclusion of all others). Therefore their accommodations are not available to unmarried couples.

In September 2008, civil partners Steven Preddy and Martyn Hall reserved a double room at the hotel, when the hotel’s manager “realized that the booking had not been made for a heterosexual couple,” their hotel reservation was cancelled, according to a Christian Post article. This policy of their’s have been in effect since the hotel was established in 1986.

The hotel owner’s business, doubles as their home as well as a hotel.

What’s your opinion Ceo readers, does the hotel have a right to decide who stays in their rooms??

“The Eddie Long ‘Sex Case’ In Mediation”

After all of that talk about…

“I’m gone fight this thing” and

“I’m NOT the person being portrayed in the media” and

“I feel like David against Goliath, I’ve got five rocks and I haven’t thrown one yet”.

Now Bishop Eddie Long and his accusers have agreed to a mediation instead of a public trial.

Mediator Ellen Malow states “Almost all mediation when the case settles neither side gives any admission of guilt or responsibility, this is standard in any settlement agreement.”

Some legal experts say this looks like an admission of guilt while others say this is not the case. I think so, anything can be decided on when a case is in mediation (i.e., no future book deals, a gag order, sealed records and files, a substantial amount of money) and the list can go on.

Long is being sued by four young men who say’s he used his power and influence to coerce them into a sexual relationship.

He denied the claims in a court filing even though he admitted to taking them on trips, giving them gifts and sometimes sharing hotel rooms.

If a settlement agreement is reached in a private mediation, we may never know the outcome of this case.

“Bishop Long Not Settling/Trial Goes To Court”

“We were in court last week, discovery is happening right now. We’re setting up deposition dates, so the litigation is proceeding along,” said BJ Bernstein.

Bernstein is the lawyer representing four young men, who filed lawsuits against Bishop Eddie Long, and told Channel 2 Action News the lawsuits are moving forward, and she will soon begin taking depositions.

“We’re talking about getting forward and going through with the case and planning for deadlines set by the judge” Bernstein added.

Bernstein would not comment on any other pending lawsuits, or additional victims.

Anthony Flagg, Jamal Parris, Maurice Robinson and Spencer LeGrande filed civil suits against Long, accusing him of using his spiritual authority to coerce the young men into sexual relationships.

Long has since denied the claims in court documents, but admitted serving as a mentor to the men.

“He Hasn’t Stepped Down Although It Looks”

That way…

Although Bishop Eddie Long said he will not step down or step aside while he fights allegations of sexual misconduct brought on by several young men from his church however, it looks like that’s exactly what he’s done.

For the last couple of Sunday’s now, there have been guest preachers at New Birth Missionary Baptist church, Bishop has been present but explained to his congregation how he needs to spend more time with his family and that “God wanted him to rest and be refreshed. He added that, from time to time the congregations would see him sitting on the side so he could hear “what God is saying and so I don’t miss anything.”

The Bishop’s absence was also a tell- tell sign at “Stand” this year. Stand is an annual church meeting which is held yearly at the Georgia Dome and it draws a crowd 30,000 to 40,000 of the faithful each year.

Although Long has supported Stand from its inception, this year he was a no-show.

Deep down inside, I think he’s embarrassed.

Update To My: “Daily “Eddie Long” Report”

Although Bishop Eddie Long deny all of the pending allegations against him, New Birth missionary Baptist Church, will not confirm nor deny if Bishop Eddie Long was having inappropriate relationships with his accusers.

According to the AJC: Responding on Monday to one of four lawsuits alleging that Bishop Eddie Long coerced young men into sexual relations, New Birth Missionary Baptist Church acknowledged that the accusers accompanied the pastor on trips but said it could not confirm or deny whether anything inappropriate took place.

The Lithonia mega church, in its response filed in DeKalb County State Court Monday, acknowledges that the men accompanied Long on trips, in some cases overseas, but said it couldn’t explain the nature of relationships that may have existed between Long and the men.

The church said Anthony Flagg, one of the accusers, traveled with Long on trips to Tuskegee, Ala., New York and Las Vegas, but couldn’t provide further details. It said it could not “admit or deny” allegations that the two were intimate.

The response said “the church understands that Bishop Long often shared hotel rooms with members of the congregation while traveling,” but it couldn’t say whether Flagg shared a room with Long.

The four men allege that Long used his influence, lavish trips, gifts and jobs to coerce them into relationships.

Long has called the plaintiffs’ allegations false. His responses to the lawsuits were filed last week.
