“Rangel In The Battle Of His Ethics”

Charles Rangel has been a apart of the U.S. House Of Representatives for more than 40 years.

But now the 80-year-old embattled democrat is facing multiple ethics violations by the House Committee.

Rangel, who gave up his chairmanship of the powerful Ways and Means Committee amid a two-year probe into ethics lapses, faces a fight that could force him from office after nearly 40 years.

Rangel vowed to a New York Daily news reporter, “you can bet your sweet ass” he will answer charges and win. “Now the facts are going to get out and I think that’s good,” he said. “I don’t have any fear at all politically or personally what they come up with….So this is it, it’s what I’ve been waiting for.”

The House Committee on Standards and Official Conduct announced its investigative panel found Rangel had in fact committed violations, and immediately created a new panel to hear the charges.

Rangel’s resignation came after the committee found out he took corporate sponsored trips to the Caribbean.

The panel won’t reveal all of the violations until next week. Stay tuned…
