“Aretha Franklin Discusses Her Diet Changes”

Grammy Award singer and “Queen of Soul” Aretha Franklin, is planning a triumphant return to the stage in May, according to Billboard.com.

The singer, who underwent gastric bypass surgery (according to inside sources) in early December, will play her first concert since the surgery on May 28 at the Seneca Niagara Casino in Buffalo, N.Y.

Ms. Franklin, 68, steadfastly refuses to admit she had gastric bypass surgery, when she’s not alone; many celebrities have undergone the procedure but is keeping mum about it, saying they lost the weight through diet and exercise.

Since her surgery, Aretha has focused on her diet, which she changed drastically per doctor’s orders. She is noticeably slimmer but she won’t say how much weight she lost.

Aretha is sticking to a strict low-fat, low cholesterol, low salt diet, but she said it will be tough to avoid eating her post-high fat, high calorie snacks, such as chitterlings, pigs’ feet and ham hocks.

“They’re off my diet. They just really don’t fit with Whole Foods,” she said. “I had it for enough years that I don’t miss it. You can’t continue to eat things that are not good for you.”

“When you come off (a high-energy concert), a carrot or some celery just isn’t going to work. I’ve gotta do a fresh fruit thing … and come up with some tasty and satisfying recipes that are going to work for me after concerts.”

“Charlie Sheen’s Been Sober For All Of What?”

5 minutes maybe? Yet he’s speaking out to the media about his sobriety already, yeah ok…It takes more than 5 days to undo years of alcohol and drug abuse., so who’s he trying to convince?

The 45-year-old actor is set to be in rehab treatment “at home” for the next three months.

In the meantime, production has been shut down on “Two and a Half Men” since January after Sheen had been partying at home with porn stars that led to him being hospitalized.

Sheen made two phone calls into “The Dan Patrick Show” yesterday and was asked if he had ever been drunk on the set of the CBS comedy.

The shape I was showing up in was epic, was beyond comprehension,” he said. “[I’ve] never been drunk, never been high on the set once. But I would show up not having slept much.”

He recalled“doing a network run-through and asking the director, Jamie, to move my mark a little bit, so I could be next to a piece of furniture or a table, so I wouldn’t fall over. That is an expert move by a seasoned professional,” Sheen continued. “I’m sorry, an amateur stays on his mark and then falls over during the run-through.”

Sheen has been nothing but more of a liability to CBS in my opinion., when Warner Bros. has syndication commitments to stations around the country. And Warner and CBS also have commitments to Sheen, who bragged about that to Patrick.

Charlie Sheen’s track record of reprehensible acts, continue to grow and CBS should be wise, break his contract, kick him to the curb and kill him off of the show.

Halle Berry Wins Latest Round in Custody War

According to TMZ.com, a judge ruled in favor of Halle Berry, taking her 2-year-old daughter Nahla to New York where she is filming a movie. The judge disagreed with Gabriel Aubry’s argument that Halle’s work was prohibiting him from co-parenting their child.

As a result, Aubry, withdrew his custody petition in court today.

Sources tell TMZ … Gabriel was trying to block Halle from going to NYC to shoot “New Year’s Eve” — the movie from which she withdrew in order to deal with her custody issues over Nahla.

After hearing arguments this morning from both sides — as Halle looked on — the judge gave her the green light to travel to New York with her kid. We’ve learned she won’t take back the role that was given to Katherine Heigl, but she’ll play another character in the movie.

Halle’s lawyer, Neal Hersh, tells TMZ, “We are pleased the judge took the time to deal with this very imminent and important issue. The judge read a great deal of paperwork and gave us time to argue.”

Hersh added, “Halle is very pleased with the judge’s order.”

“El DeBarge Headed To Rehab”

The ’80s popster, whose chart-topping career (“The Rhythm of the Night” and “Who’s Johnny”) hit the skids after a crack conviction and two years in prison, announced today that he has checked into rehab.

I’m so very disappointed by this news, especially since I just watched his documentary a couple of weeks ago. In the documentary El declared his deliverance from a bout with drugs, even going back to the old neighborhood where he use to get high to film the video for the title CD debut “second chance”.

“I hate to disappoint my fans but it is necessary for me to take the time to work on me so that I may continue to share my music and my story with everyone,” the 49-year-old DeBarge said. “I thank everyone in advance for their prayers and well wishes and hope that you will respect my privacy during this time.”

DeBarge had been scheduled as an opening act for Mary J. Blige and planned to tour extensively on his own in 2011. Those commitments, along with the publicity appearances, have now been canceled.

“I Saw Prince In Concert Last Night”

Prince loves to dance and can dance his butt off especially in concert.

Well, after the 52-year-old pop icon, brought Kim Kardashian, onstage to dance for him and/or with him, she stood there and pulled that “awkward-pretend-to-laugh-oh-God-I’m-so-uncomfortable” look, that is a favorite amongst people who can’t dance, or who don’t want to embarrass themselves trying.

Prince kicked Kim Who-dashian off the stage with the quickness like, “don’t waste my time”., he kindly had her behind escorted back to her seat.

Prince wasn’t playing with that heifer, especially in front of a sold-out crowd at Madison Square Garden, and he didn’t care how many sex tapes she had.

The crowd could tell that this “famous for what” sister of Khloe Kardashian was embarrassed and humiliated as hell.

Last night was the conclusion of Prince’s ‘run of concerts’ at Madison Square Garden, I saw him in December at the IZOD Center in New Jersey.
