Early in the week I wrote a piece about this being black history month and how it will be acknowledged and celebrated here at the CEO’s blog; yet this morning, we received an online article from loyal reader “Angelhair” about getting rid of the black history month celebration altogether.

Dear Blog Queen,

I’ve been a loyal reader of your blog for the past year or so and since it is customary for you to acknowledge black history month on your blog, you should know that there is talk of getting rid of this celebration for good. Blacks have made contributions throughout history and having just 28 days to acknowledge this is unfair and totally absurd.

Attached for your reading pleasure is an article that was posted online supporting the same.

I feel what you will do here on your blog for the next 28 days or less is extremely unnecessary. After reading my email and the article, I hope you will reconsider. I’m sure your readers will agree.

Stories, articles and fan mail are always welcomed to me via email concerning this blog., and if I feel such information is news worthy and worth sharing for discussion I will do so; however, no one will ever tell me what I should or shouldn’t highlight or write about at my own discretion.

This reader had a lot of nerve sending me this email but she seems to think you will agree with her…. please sound off, I’d like to know.

    But I would just like to add, if we took time to look into the history of many of those who live here in America, perhaps we could develop a better understanding and more respect for one another and our origins rather than creating disputes over them.

        Why beat the azz of an ignorant person: what she fails to realize is, why Black History month came about.

        If the US history books told more truth, and less fiction, then there would be no need for BHM. But as long as we have people who cloud history with more opinion than fact, these celebrations are strong needed.
