“Why Ask Me?” “I Don’t Know The Perfect Gift”

Why are some of my readers (both male and female-females mostly) asking me for gift ideas?

I understand the holidays are here and along with it comes the classic dilemma — what to get the love of your life for Christmas? But really?

If you are having a little trouble deciding on that perfect gift to surprise him or her with this Christmas; shop according to the need(s) of the person, or the need that creates the circumstance for that person.

As boring as it may sound, be practical. And when you work hard and value your bottom line, you will consider shopping sensibly.

Fellas and my ladies, there are plenty of selections of neck-wear for him/her or baking/cooking classes for him/her, especially if he/she have a desire to cook but can’t.

And for that loyal reader who said her man just loves Janet Jackson, Mattel has recently created a Barbie doll in her honor, complete with a certificate of authenticity and a display case.

Be thoughtful and creative when shopping for the love of your life and by all means, happy shopping!

      The unique doll was made by Mattel to resemble Janet as she performed during the 2010 American Idol finale. Proceeds from the auction, which ends on December 15, will benefit Project Angel Food.”

      The doll is being auctioned off to raise money for Project Angel Food, an organization that delivers food to people sick with HIV. This a one of a kind doll. It is not Janet trying to sell shit.

    2. Ladies, it’s not too late. you can have a doll anytime. and since it cost $750 smackeroos you can pay for that shit as an adult as well. i can’t see the average parents being able to pay that kind of money for a doll.

    *after about 20 minutes, wipes eyes and smears snot on sleeve* Okay I’m alright….THAT BARBIE IS SO DARN ADORABLE AGH GOD!!! But the price…geez. The good side to this is it’s probably gonna be a limited edition. Also over time, it will become a collector’s item and it will be worth a TON of money. If I HAD the money to get it…call me crazy, but I probably would. Yes, I love Janet THAT much.

  29. Does anyone have any good gift ideas for me? I’ve been buying the same things for my husband for the past 6 years….

    I want to do something different, it’s either cologne, shirts, pants, shoes, electronics etc etc. He has everything, so I don’t know what to get him :-/

    2. @Truth, After so many yrs together you do run out of ideas. I bought my husband a griddle last yr and he loves it. On one side hubby can grill a steak and on the other make eggs, bacon or pancakes. The best thing about it is when you plug it in and you only want to cook a steak you only turn that side of the unit on. He has to work at 5am and I am not getting up to make him breakfast. He has fun w/it and I paid 60 bucks for it at Kmart. Not sure what I am getting him this yr, I’m thinking a flat screen computer monitor.

    3. @Truth, I bought my husband the beer of the month club last year. It was a nice change from the norm! They send like three beers of four different types found around the world. He liked being able to say he had tried a beer that his boys had not. Something different! He was like a little kid waiting for his box each month!
