“Willow Smith Has Style? So They Say”

Will and Jada Smith’s 9-year-old daughter Willow,  rocks the red striped pants and studded lumberjack boots as she leaves her hotel in NYC today.

The pint-sized 9-year-old is already being labeled a “Fashionista” and “Style Icon” for the younger set, for some reason I can’t see it.

The youngest member of the Smith family just debut her single entitled “Whip My Hair” on 106 Park yesterday. Willow seems extremely mature for her age, my children’s book “Just call me Sophia” may be a little too immature for her.

The liitle girl seems so grown….I wonder if she still plays with dolls?

      @Starr, that doesn’t bother me, her midriff is not out, she’s isn’t wearing booty shorts or a miniskirt with a tube top ala Hannah Montana or Britney, I think she’s fine. She is creative and wants to express herself through clothes there’s nothing wrong with that as long as she’s not dressing skanky…

    3. I am curious @Starr..what do you find GROWN about her outfit? What are you seeing that I am not? Is it the WRAP? …..both she and her brother appear to be Well Traveled children…which explains why her style is eclectic.

    4. She really doesn’t look all that grown to me. I don’t know many grown women that would run around dressing and looking the way she does besides Kelis and that’s a whole ‘nother can of worms in itself.

      Anyway, she’s an entertainer. A funky, eclectic entertainer and I like it!

    5. @Starr, that particular outfit is too grown- but lately, Willows been looking unenthused.. like she can either care less or maybe she just wants to play with her friends and be normal.. something looks ..off

      1. @Ap., When does she appear to be unenthusiastic…I have seen her in interviews and she is completely humble to me…. she is genuinely grateful for the accolades…in fact she comes across a lot more humble than her brother…did you see him on Oprah?

    6. @QTip!!! Her hairstyle in the above pictures seem a tad bit mature
      as far as her style of dress….you DO see 9 year olds dressed this way? I don’t…
      Would I allow my child to dress that way? No!!
      But obviously Willow has a stylist and they are with any ones glam team, they have a certain image they want to put out there so it is what it is.

  6. Hello All. She’s such a slender girl. Wonder if she’s teased bout it, being skinny as a bean pole. If I were her mother, I would tell her: You can never be too rich or too thin. HA, just kidding, that’s what white mother’s tell their daughters. We tell ours not to get pregnant at 16 but lots don’t listen. As for her being “too grown looking” childdddddddddd, she’s 9 going on 19! Peace.

      1. you 2 need to stop, she said plain as day she has a tutor, and it is by law she see’s one. Just because she isn’t in a regular school 7-3 like most kids does not mean anything. …… and she has Extracurricular activities like piano…

  24. I dont understand, am I the only one who thinks this little girl is too grown and her image seems forced? I dont get the hype, if her parents werent the Smiths I feel like she wouldnt get this much attention.

  25. She’s been looking sad lately.. compared to her “pre whip it” photo’s, she looked like a normal little girl, who liked to dress up.. now, she looks bored or “forced” idk.. I like willow, I hope she’s okay with all of this.. fast life attention stuff.. that wrap, shaw thing and that hair doesnt look “kid fun” IMO

    1. I too have noticed that she has been looking a little sad in the eyes lately, on tv its different because its a show but in candids she doesnt look as happy. I feel like she is being forced, she is only 9 and how many 9 year olds want to be singers? When it comes to the effort they get bored… its best to wait until their minds are mature enough to decide. IDK, just my opinion.

      1. She is such a pretty little girl! @Kimmie, I don’t think her parents forced her to become an entertainer/singer. In the beginning it may have seemed like a lot of fun vs. reality setting in and now she sees it’s not as easy as she thought. It’s time consuming and takes a lot of hard work to make a single a hit, stay relevant, make a video, promote your video, do interviews etc….

Willow reminds me of my little niece, who’s mom tried to force her to model, only because the “other kids” were doing it.. but my niece really didnt want to model.. she played along for a while to please her mother.. but her eyes told the truth.. she wanted to just play and be a regular kid.. some kids dont want to explore talent at a young age, but they’ll try and do it b-ciz they know it’ll make mommy and daddy happy and proud!

  31. Willow and my niece Lei are a day apart, same year. I truly think Willow is that kind of kid. The kid your granma n them said, “been here before”. And I am 100% positive she plays with toys! And @Tracy i’m sure she would love that children’s book. 🙂

  32. She looks like she is on her way to visit the son of a Saudi Arabi prince. The hair looks nice, if you like that ella fitzgerald look. Maybe that is what she is channeling. She just looks like a lot of trends threw up on her at once.

  33. I’m not trying to talk about this little girl but I wish she would disappear for at least five more years. I am so bothered by the position she has been put in whether she enjoys it or not. Gosh folks, let children be children before we start sacrificing them to this world to feed upon. We build celebs up just so we can tear them done. Ya’ll best believe the world will come at her with a vengeance for no reason at all. Why send her to the wolves before she’s even learned how to fight? **exhales** Just my opinion but I’m sure it’ll fall on deaf ears.
