The video is beautiful…
Thanks to loyal Ceo Blog Reader Wylene Ward for the video. 🙂

This video of the ‘ Negro National Anthem’ was originally screened at the historic African-American Church Inaugural Ball in Washington, DC on January 18th, 2009. Many of the esteemed individuals featured in this video in attendance and we presented with the ‘ Keepers of the Flame’ award for the monumental contributions to social justice.

Lift ev’ry voice and sing,
Till earth and heaven ring.
Ring with the harmonies of Liberty;
Let our rejoicing rise,
High as the list’ning skies,
Let it resound loud as the rolling sea.
Sing a song full of the faith that the dark past has taught us,
Sing a song full of the hope that the present has brought us;
Facing the rising sun of our new day begun,
Let us march on till victory is won.
Stony the road we trod,
Bitter the chast’ning rod,
Felt in the days when hope unborn had died;
Yet with a steady beat,
Have not our weary feet,
Come to the place for which our fathers sighed?
We have come over a way that with tears has been watered,
We have come, treading our path through the blood of the slaughtered,
Out from the gloomy past,
Till now we stand at last
Where the white gleam of our bright star is cast.
God of our weary years,
God of our silent tears,
Thou who has brought us thus far on the way;
Thou who has by Thy might,
Led us into the light,
Keep us forever in the path, we pray.
Lest our feet stray from the places, our God, where we met Thee,
Lest our hearts, drunk with the wine of the world, we forget Thee,
Shadowed beneath thy hand,
May we forever stand,
True to our God,
True to our native land.

This isn’t a battle of which race struggled the most. The video speaks truth about our history. Let other races make their own and then we’ll speak on it.

@Angel-hair.,
For once I’m going to address ya dumb ass comment. Comparing who was treated worse is an ignorant comment. Each race has its own way to express their stuggle to survive. Slavery and the holocaust are two barbaric, unspeakable chapters of history. Try just being human and recognizing the strength of both races despite what happened.

For those hating.
This was written as part of an intro for booker t. washington when he spoke at a lincoln’s birthday gathering. it was written as a poem to and for washington. don’t let others twist your facts around to put them in higher standing. bottom line if those angry at the prez after little more than a year in office are jealous, angry & have that same feeling of entitlement that makes the country as bad as it is great. no need to reply. i dont return to the scene of my postings, for my word is bond and FINAL!
