Many of the esteemed individuals featured in this video in attendance and we presented with the ‘ Keepers of the Flame’ award for the monumental contributions to social justice.

It is the testament to the overwhelming human spirit laced with faith and dignity of a down trodden people arriving at their deserving of dignity and equality for accomplishments reaching to president of the greatest democracy human history has ever seen.

  58. i love this song. i know this by heart especially because i had to learn it for my eighth grade graduation. this songs lifts the spirits and shows what changes america went through to get this far. you can learn alot from this song.

    For once I’m going to address ya dumb ass comment. Comparing who was treated worse is an ignorant comment. Each race has its own way to express their stuggle to survive. Slavery and the holocaust are two barbaric, unspeakable chapters of history. Try just being human and recognizing the strength of both races despite what happened.

    This was written as part of an intro for booker t. washington when he spoke at a lincoln’s birthday gathering. it was written as a poem to and for washington. don’t let others twist your facts around to put them in higher standing. bottom line if those angry at the prez after little more than a year in office are jealous, angry & have that same feeling of entitlement that makes the country as bad as it is great. no need to reply. i dont return to the scene of my postings, for my word is bond and FINAL!
