According to a report published on RadarOnline.com, troubled R&B singer Fantasia was rushed to a N. Carolina hospital following an suicide attempt, not an accidental overdose.
According to a report filed with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, officers responded on Monday evening at 8:43 p.m. to a suicide attempt call at a home on Bevington Place, Charlotte.
Police sources and sources close to the investigation say Barrino was found in the closet of the Glynmoor Lakes neighborhood home and she was taken to Mercy South Hospital at Carolinas Medical Center in Pineville.
Joseph Barrino, Fantasia’s father, told RadarOnline that his daughter was “doing fine.”
Fantasia, who was accused of being a home wrecker by her boyfriend’s estranged wife, ingested an unknown quantity of medication and suffered “internal injuries” as a result.
Paula Cook, pictured above with one of her children, accused Fantasia of introducing her husband, Antwaun, to a lavish lifestyle that she could not compete with. She also alleged in court papers the existence of illicit recordings of Fantasia and Antwaun having sex. But Cook’s close friends say there are no such sex tapes.

She may have to go to a hospital if they determine it was more than an emotional spur of the moment thing but unless she put the baby at risk by doing it while she was home in front of her or something they won’t take her.

Tasia was humiliated, ashamed, and embarrassed & didn’t know how to handle the bad press so she “attempted suicide.” IF I am wrong, I do hope that she gets help. But it dosen’t pass the smell test. Here’s what I think happened. I could be wrong, but I think ole boy realized the jig was up and he was about to lose his wife and kids (or maybe just his kids since he probably didn’t care about her anyway). So he told Fantasia he was out, and she couldn’t take the rejection. So she swallowed just enough pills to make her sick, as a way of getting him to come running back to her. I’m sure she’s done this before.

Her manager has released a statement to TMZ which claims she was completely overwhelmed by the recent lawsuit filed by Antwaun Cook’s wife and all of the media attention surrounding her relationship. Below is the statement:
Fantasia has always been an open book. Honesty, self-respect, and personal responsibility are values she wears proudly.
Fantasia believed Mr. Cook when he told her he was not happy in his marriage and his heart was not in it. She believed him when he told her he and Mrs. Cook separated in the late summer of 2009. She believed Mr. Cook when he told her he lived elsewhere.
He even took her there. One of Mr. Cook’s most redeeming qualities was his complete devotion to his children. Fantasia fell in love with Mr. Cook and believed that he loved her.
Fantasia and Mr. Cook dated on and off for about eleven months. The pressure of the constant media attention was hard on their relationship. Fantasia gave inconsistent interviews about the status of her relationship with Mr. Cook because sometimes they were on and sometimes they were off.
When they were on, they spent most of their time together when she was not traveling with work.
Fantasia read Mrs. Cook’s Complaint against Mr. Cook for the first time yesterday. She knows some of the allegations in Mrs. Cook’s complaint are totally false. There are others she strongly doubts. There is plenty she does not know.
Fantasia is heartbroken and is sorry for any pain she may have caused.
Yesterday, she was totally overwhelmed by the lawsuit and the media attention. Last night, Fantasia was hospitalized. She took an overdose of aspirin and a sleep aid.
Her injuries are not life threatening. She was dehydrated and exhausted at the time. Fantasia is stable now. She will be released from the hospital soon. Fantasia is a fighter and a survivor. This is not the hardest thing Fantasia has endured.
Fantasia will be stronger, smarter, and better for it. Her work has always inspired her and served as a source of strength. Her new album, “Back To Me,” will be released on August 24th.

Fantasia got a once in a life time beautiful break w/ American Idol, she chose to take care of grown able bodied ppl. She was uneducated, a teen mom and a black woman who is no LSLH. It was rumore she had a mllion dollar home in foreclosure. Ppl are tired of others getting a break and not knowing what to do with it. She may not be going after Fanny because she wants her husband to come back home and take care of her, but so what if that is the reason behind her taking the legal route? I’m sure Fanny wasn’t included in the marital vowels. She may be doing it to let Fanny know that she does not appreciate her partaking in the dismantling of her family, and that there are potential consequences for such behavior. Her husband needs to take ownership of his actions as well. More people should do exactly what Mrs. Cook is doing. I hope Mrs. Cook’s lawsuit is the spark that lights massive fires around the country.

Alienation of Affection laws are simple, the wife has to prove that she was in a happy and loving marriage. (I doubt that will happen because I doubt Fanny was the only person he cheated on her with.) All Fantasia has to do is show that dude has a history of cheating on her and she will be fine.
