Protest Erupt Coast to Coast….So How was Trump Elected?

gettyimages-622089650_custom-89d75c84fe4cddae76c551bc506018e8e3841701-s800-c85Thousands of protesters took the streets of twenty U.S. cities across the country to express their disdain and denouncing the win for President Elect Donald Trump.

From New York to California, Chicago to Washington, protestors took to the streets and stayed steady in New York outside of Trump Tower marching to Union station. Standing on street signs and climbing utility poles.

Authorities said at least 6,000 people were marching through the streets, setting fires and chanting “Not my president” “Fuck Trump, he’s not my president” and “We Reject the president elect”

From Boston, MA to Seattle, Washington protestors are taking their anger and frustrations of the outcome of this election to the streets.

gettyimages-622088202_custom-181e0f65c3f5e91cdaf09ff1e6118f66453ac021-s800-c85Trump hasn’t even been sworn into office yet and already thousands of non-supporters are angry and frustrated with the majority who voted Trump into office. So the question is, how was Trump elected? Did voter suppression play a role in this election?

In his post-election victory speech, Trump said that he would be the president for all Americans, and that it was “time to come together as one united people.” This will be a challenge especially since he ran his campaign on a platform of turmoil, hatred, bigotry and sexism.

Another Black Man Killed in NC, yet President Obama is concerned about his Legacy?

Police fatally shot a North Carolina man they claim was armed — but a woman who said she was his daughter cried out on Facebook Live that he didn’t have a gun, triggering riotous protests that stretched out into the streets of Charlotte during pre-dawn hours of the morning.

As always, Charlotte police said Keith Lamont, 43 posed as an imminent threat when they tried to serve him with a warrant and he exited his vehicle with a gun. Lamont’s daughter took to her Facebook page to recant the cops claims that her father was armed.

In the meantime nation of Islam leader, The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan chastised President Barack Obama for reprimanding black people about protecting his legacy.

Farakhan spoke with disdain in his voice about Obama’s self-serving speech at the Congressional Black Caucus gala, where Obama said his presidential “legacy” was in jeopardy if black people didn’t vote for Hillary Clinton.

“I just want to tell you, Mr. President, you’re from Chicago, and so am I,” said Minister Farrakhan during a service at Union Temple Baptist Church in Washington, D.C. on Sunday.

“I go out in the street with the people… I visited the worst neighborhoods… I talked to the gangs. They said, ‘you know, Farrakhan, the president ain’t never come… could you get him to come and look after us?’”

Farrakhan added:

“There’s your legacy, Mr. President… it’s in the streets with your suffering people, Mrs. President. And if you can’t go and see about them, then don’t worry about your legacy… ’cause the white people that you serve so well… they’ll preserve your legacy — the hell they will — but you didn’t earn your legacy with us!

“You didn’t earn your legacy with Black people. You fought for the rights of gay people… You fight for Israel… Your people are suffering and dying in the streets!”

Former Congressman Joe Walsh Threatens Obama With ‘War’

joe-walsh-550x392Former Congressman Joe Walsh reacted to early reports of cops killed in Dallas with a tweet threatening President Obama and Black Lives Matter.

In the now-deleted tweet, Walsh wrote: “This is now war. Watch out Obama. Watch out black lives matter punks. Real America is coming after you.”

In other tweets, Walsh called BLM a “hate group” and he called on Americans to stand up to “Cop haters – from Obama to the thugs on the street.”

Television personality Montel Williams was quick to lash out at Walsh on Twitter.com.

5 officers, including a transit officer, were confirmed dead. 7 others were wounded in last night’s shootings.

3 suspects are in custody. A 4th suspect died when a police robot detonated a bomb near him.

President Obama, speaking at a NATO meeting in Warsaw, Poland, described the terrorist attack as a “vicious, calculated and despicable attack on law enforcement.”.

Obama added: “There is no possible justification for these kinds of attacks or any violence against law enforcement.”

The Confederate Flag….A Symbol of Slavery or Racism? On the next “Conversations Of A Sistah”

battle-flag-2a

As you know, the uproar over the Confederate flag began last month after photos surfaced online of church shooter Dylan Roof waving the flag. It was the execution of nine (9) individuals in a church in Charleston, South Carolina to change the wave of this conversation.

The South Carolina Senate voted Monday to remove the Confederate flag from a pole on the Statehouse grounds, though the proposal still needs approval from the state House and the governor.

The bill requires a two-thirds vote in each chamber; the Senate approved it 37-3. Gov. Nikki Haley has said she wants the flag to come down and will sign the bill.

Monday’s vote comes less than a week after the 15th anniversary of South Carolina taking the flag off the Capitol dome where it flew since the early 1960s and moving it to beside a monument honoring Confederate soldiers.

Are we on the verge of another race riot? Tonight on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

RACE-RIOTS

There are some details and incidents about racial unrest recently here in the United States.

In April 1992, one of the nation’s largest bouts of racial violence came behind the acquittal of four Los Angeles police officers who were videotaped beating unarmed Rodney King in April 1992. When that unrest subsided, 53 people had been killed and more than 2,000 had been injured. Property damage was estimated at $1 billion dollars or more.

Over the past 30 years, all hell has broken loose on numerous occasions, the most recent of course being the headline-grabbing racial unrest in Ferguson, Missouri. Compared to previous incidents, Ferguson has been pretty rough both in terms of its duration and the number of arrests involved.

These racial unrest was roiled after 18-year-old Michael Brown, an unarmed teen, who was black, was shot and killed by Darren Wilson, a white police officer, on Aug. 9.

If justice and fairness does not begin with the arrest of the police officer who killed Mike Brown, race riots might very well ensue again. Black males, who have recently been gunned down, wrestled down and/or killed by white men and/or white police officers who claim “reasonable fear” or “self-defense” as their defense, is becoming a weak or repeated cover.
