Conversations Of A Sistah, Tracy L. Bell, What she said, Women's History Month

It’s Women’s History month: What kind of Legacy are you imparting ladies? Tonight on “Conversations of A Sistah”

Black-Women-Friends-1

How are we being influenced in today’s society? Why are some women trying to live out the fantasy’s of characters such as; Olivia Pope and Mary Jane Paul? Why is it that sex sells while morality and virtue are frowned upon?

Why are young women quoting “Drunk in love” by Beyoncé instead or quoting words of empowerment by Maya Angelou? Who and what is influencing your legacy? For that which is premeditated will eventually give birth to your visions.

Join me tonight at 8:00 PM on “Conversations Of A Sistah” via “Conversations Live” as I kick off Women’s History month by discussing legacy’s that will live on and those powerful women who’ve influenced mine.

I’ll see you on the air!

As I conclude Women’s History month this week which has been a month-long celebration with an awesome panel of real women on the show who’ve made history while continuing to thrive in their professions, my guest on the show this week is former Essence Advice Columnist Dr. Gwendolyn Goldsby Grant.

Dr. Grant contributed for over twenty-five years, as the writer of “Between Us,” a monthly column for Essence magazine and in 1995 she published a book; The Best Kind of Loving: A Black Woman’s Guide to Finding Intimacy. Not only is she a well renowned media psychologist, counselor and advocate for sex education but a devote Women of God. Having earned bachelors and masters degrees in counseling and behavioral science, as well as doctorate degrees in both theology and education, Dr. Grant is anointed to carry this spiritual banner which precedes her professional expertise. She is both humble and established and has often appeared as a lecturer before women’s organizations, corporations, colleges and church groups.

The woman is simply awesome!!! And like so many of you, I’ve followed Dr. Grant’s wisdom, guidance and knowledge for many years.

“Loving Your Bodies” as it is…tonight on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

Dr.Clark_COS

Ladies, as we are in the midst of celebrating the history of woman this month, we must deal with the downside of being a woman. Many of us have hidden insecurities and annoying little dislikes about ourselves. Some of us diet endlessly, while considering different surgeries to alter our body images and appearances, instead of loving ourselves as we are.

Wednesday on “Conversations Of A Sistah“, my guest is Dr. Felicia Clark, life coach, author and former Plus-Size Cover Model, who is the nation’s leading scholar on Body Terrorism. Dr. Clark  will discuss with me the big business of low self-esteem and talk about how advertisers use science and emotional manipulation to make us feel inadequate. Dr. Clark believes many of our social problems as a Community are attributable to this type of persuasion.

Join me Wednesday at 8:00 PM on “Conversations Of A Sistah” on “Conversations Live” as I discuss “Loving your bodies as it is” with the fabulous Dr. Felicia Clark.

As usual, we invite you to send your questions or comments for Dr. Clark to the show @conversations@optonline.net

You can access the show at any of “Conversations Links” in this post.

As usual I’m hoping to meet you all on the air.

Women who’ve changed the game! Tonite on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

Presentation1

As we start our month-long celebration commemorating Women’s History month, I will discuss women who’ve changed the game; women who’ve contributed much to our history using their talents and greatness. Some of these women sacrificed much, as they’ve paved the way for others. Women’s History is my topic of discussion for tonight, Wednesday March 6, 2013 at 8:00 PM on Conversations Of A Sistah.

Coco Channel, Dr., Mae C. Jameson, Amelia Earhart, Rosa Parks and Maya Angelou just to name a few, are women who have done great things to contribute to women’s history by changing the course in history in making a difference.

So join me tonight on “Conversations Of A Sistah” on “Conversations Live” as I delve into this topic and add my two cents with great commentary.

Are you doing great things to change the course of history? As usual send us your comments and/or questions to the show at: conversations@optonline.net
