Birthday wishes, Holidays, Martin Luther King

Observing the Prince of Non-violence!

Yesterday was officially the birthday of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King. Although the holiday will be observed next Monday January 20, 2014, people around the world acknowledged it accordingly.

Fifty years later after Dr. King walked this earth and fought for equality and died for the passion of his beliefs, yet we still deal with and struggle for equality, voter rights, racism and equal opportunity. However we still look to his dream, knowing this is so far from reality.

Happy Birthday Dr. King! We get 10 steps ahead and they want to take us a thousand steps back.

Have a Merry “Diddy” Christmas!

Rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs, who is a proud father of six children, gathered up his gang to pose for a festive and fancy Christmas card.

His adorable girls were dressed in uber-stylish black dresses while the boys all donned dapper tuxedos.

The three mothers of the 44-year-old rapper’s children are not featured in the holiday fun but his twin daughters D’Lila and Jessie, daughter Chance, sons Justin and Christian along with his stepson Quincy, who is son of R&B crooner Al B. Sure, all smiled sweetly together for the photo.

“Happy Holidays from the Combs Family!,” he captioned the image that he shared with his over nine million followers on Twitter.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!

Table Setting1

As we gather today with friends and family to break bread in love and unity, let us be mindful of those less fortunate than us.

In the wake of many tragedies due to storms, floods and other unfortunate calamities, let’s not forget to be “thankful” in spite of.

Do something good today; have dinner with the elderly, feed the hungry, pray for someone who may be lonely and missing someone this holiday season. No matter what it is, show thanks and be thankful!

From my family to this one, have a Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

Woman giving out letters instead of candy to all the “fat kids” this Halloween

A woman in North Dakota, plans to give a sealed letter to any overweight children who ring her doorbell for “tricks or treats” today. She will then instruct the children to give the sealed letter to their parents.

In the letter, the woman plans to tell the parents that they are acting irresponsibly by sending their children out to seek candy when they are already overweight.

The letter, which was emailed to her local radio station, reads in part:

“You [sic] child is, in my opinion, moderately obese and should not be consuming sugar and treats to the extent of some children this Halloween season.

My hope is that you will step up as a parent and ration candy this Halloween and not allow your child to continue these unhealthy eating habits.”

This woman who will only identify herself as Cheryl said “she just wants to send a message to the parents that their kids are really overweight and how it’s really irresponsible for parents to send them out looking for free candy just because all the other kids are doing it,”
