Roe vs. Wade gave women the right to choose abortion. We can all be sensitive to the devastating impact of rape and abuse on women and the pressure to abort when the mother’s life is at risk or she’s been violated sexually.

We are also very aware of the fact that since 1973, Roe vs. Wade set a precedent where abortion is legal across the country up to the point of viability.

But Roe vs. Wade is currently being challenged with new laws in the states, and the number of states with pending highly restrictive abortion laws is growing. On Friday, Missouri’s legislature passed a bill to outlaw almost all abortions after eight weeks. This came on the heels of Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey signing into law a near total abortion ban law in her state.

Do Women still have the right to choose or NOT?

Alabama’s abortion law is the most extreme. The legislation carries a life sentence of 99 years behind bars for abortionists and pregnant women who seek their services.

Republican-led states Georgia, Ohio, Mississippi, and Kentucky have all passed so-called “heartbeat bills” outlawing abortions if a fetal heartbeat is detected.

Missouri’s Senate just passed a heartbeat bill that outlaws all abortions after 8 weeks.

Georgia’s bill threatens to punish women even if they leave the state to get an abortion.

    They building up to something. This is a stepping stone. To what, I have no idea. But after 46 yrs, I’ve learned to trust my gut. Smh.

  3. Stop the insanity. Time to deprogram the mentality that has fueled dysfunctional behaviors to oversexualize a culture of folks in urban Black communities putting them at-risk for STDs, HIV, unwanted pregnancies or babies and the need to abort or kill their unborn babies.

    Why not promote at-risk, struggle muffins to start getting their tubes tied & encouraging such males who already have kids to have vasectomies to avoid more unwanted pregnancies or babies by some criminal or deadbeat loser with a pipe dream going nowhere fast in life?

    In that way, females can start focusing on self-building for careers to help break the cycle of poverty while raising the children that they already have. Less children means the ability to dream about relocating to a less crime infested community with better schools & job opportunities.

  4. They on Twitter talking about organizing a sex strike. Ok fine but women need to hit them in they pockets. Women make up the majority of the work and labor force. What would happen if women refused to go to work a week a month? It would destroy the economy beyond imagination. They are having a peaceful protest in Cleveland come June. Women should just stop investing and funding when our bodies, health, and lives are at stake. As a woman what’s the point of getting up every morning going to a job when you don’t have health care? It doesn’t make sense.

    1. You do realize that Black women make up the highest abortion rates. Not all women choose to have an abortion or kill their unborn.

      That organizing a women strike will be a fail because those who are not about that life related to abortion will continue to work. Can struggling Black women really afford to miss paychecks, risk evictions, car repossession, no hair products, etc.? I doubt it.

      Striking will only open the doors for others to fill the jobs. A lose-lose situation especially where Black women are concern. -how about organizing for vasectomies & getting those tubes tied to avoid unwanted pregnancies or having babies by some deadbeat loser? Now, that makes more sense & is doable birth control!

      2. No @Daisy, this will affect all females. This law is not concerned if black people populate because there are systems in place to control their future. This law is to ensure the white population grows and remain the majority because their future as the main power is threatened. Their population isn’t growing because it has decreased mainly to abortion.

  8. Ok but what about a minor who just happens to fall victim of incest and/or rape and becomes pregnant? How old do you have to be to get Plan B? since she may live in one of these states where she had the abortion?

    1. You have to use the Plan B within 48 hours of intercourse I believe.
      So when a woman is raped, normally they will give you the Plan B pill.
      Now think about this. Roe is struck down, then the nutty conservatives decide to ban and outlaw the Plan B pill.

  9. The danger is NOT that Roe is going to be struck down. The danger is that these nutty religious conservatives are going after birth control and the morning after pill. If Roe is struck down, then wait for it – legislatures will try to ban the use of birth control and the morning after pill. That’s the real danger.

  10. Women can get an abortion in other states, even out of the country. If they really want an abortion. Even if they are “poor” they will find the money to get an abortion.
    What’s the most expensive in trying to not get pregnant is the cost of birth control pills, and that’s where the legislators are aiming. That they would have the gall to jail a doctor for performing a medical procedure “on demand” is laughable.

  11. Here’s a tip for women at risk of “strict abortion laws,” Use protection! There is almost no excuse for an unplanned pregnancy in 2019. Everybody has heard of Plan B by now.

    1. Here’s a tip for assholes such as yourself: There is not a 100% guaranteed option to avoid pregnancy except for abstinence! There is no excuse for you to be this stupid in 2019. I’ll leave out how this impacts rape and incest victims, hopefully you get my point by now.

You have no solid argument for how irresponsible it is for women to rely on terminating a pregnancy as a form of birth control when there are countless amount of ways to prevent pregnancy INCLUDING abstinence. But how many people practice that huh? Maybe y’all should worry about promoting abstinence as you say instead of fighting for the right to kill unborn babies. Every idiot out there knows what it takes to get pregnant, but apparently not getting pregnant is so difficult. And I never rely on the statistically insignificant amount of incest and rape cases that account for abortions. That is a very easy out for you pro-abortion people. But it the weakest argument ever. Most people getting abortions are not victims of rape or incest, they are just irresponsible women.

  12. The premise behind abortion is to rid the population of the undesirables. They leave that out when trying to convince the black community that it is for their own good. Abortion is a form of population control and the reason most of the clinics are in undesirable neighborhoods. The fact that they have convinced a number of black people it is your right to kill your young is diabolical and sinister and only serves to push their agenda to eliminate your own community.

    There is strength in numbers. Margaret Sanger is laughing at all the sheep who feed into the “it’s my right and body” rhetoric. Babies are Gods gift and planned parenthood is Satan’s messenger people. Get it?

  13. I think white people are running scared. 60% of white women get abortions. If they make these white women start having their babies they think that they can replenish the white race which is vastly becoming the minority. That’s why these white men and women in these red states are pushing this bill….to save the white race.

  14. The real fuckin gag is AL Gov Kay Ivey, is a big white Dike who doesn’t have children, prolly never wanted to give birth because she doesn’t like dicks.

    About 15 years ago, she called the agency I worked for inquiring about information, and the WHOLE time I was referring to her as Sir, and didn’t know she was female until she left her name and number.

  16. Nowadays abortion is used as birth control and humanity has become numb to the gravity of taking a life. Abortion equals child abuse and there are women who are desperate to have babies later in life who can’t because of past abortions. Adoption is a more viable way of taking responsibility for your actions.

Republicans want less government but always allow the government to decide what is best for people living their lives. So what if I want to have an abortion (for which I disagree), but who am I to tell the next woman what to do in her situation and her body.

  23. I had a planned pregnancy and had to terminate at 23 weeks due to medical reasons. He had a rare congenital heart defect and would not have survived if he went full term and I gave birth. I completely support a woman’s right to decide her own fate, as everyone’s circumstance is different. 🤷🏽‍♀️

    1. one of my former coworkers had this issue. tough, tough time. tough time. it brings back memories even for me and i only saw her go through it. nobody is thinking this through. it’s really up to the medical community to try to help the justices understand the consequences of overturning roe vs. wade.

Now for rape victims i do believe they should give the child away to a family that will raise that baby with TLC. I just will never support abortion ever!!
