ABC has cancelled Roseanne Barr’s popular scripted television show after the feisty star went on a Twitter rampage on Tuesday morning referring to former President Barack Obama’s advisor Valerie Jarrett as an ape..
The cancellation announcement came after Roseanne apologized for her offensive tweets and openly lesbian comic Wanda Sykes said she was quitting the show.
“Muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj,” Barr tweeted, referring to Jarrett, who is mixed race and originally from Iran.
In other tweets Roseanne mentioned Chelsea Clinton and George Soros as Nazi sympathizers.
The revamped Roseanne Show enjoyed high ratings but was short lived as millions of Trump supporters tuned into the show.

I know Sara Gilbert is PISSED! She is the one that had the idea of bringing that show back. Now Roseanne has ruined a WHOLE cast & crews paycheck. The shows relaunched was so successful. But I’m pretty sure this was just the last straw with them dealing with Roseanne. I can imagine she was a complete nightmare to deal with behind the scenes anyways.

It is surprising that she made this faux pas, but better now than once the show remains on top of the ratings and grabs more viewers’ attention…especially children. Knowing that this statement was made by Roseanne Barr, is disappointing. She has a duty to withhold such comments and understand her impact on the general public as representing a ‘family’ show to America.
Humor is always a reflection of truth in part. We can’t change her underlying feelings, but at the very least, we know that her brand of implicit bias is full blown racist. Tsk! Tsk!
