Shocking Claim: Whitney Houston Was Molested by Her Cousin, Dee Dee Warwick

Friends of Whitney Houston — who are peddling a documentary film on her life — claim Whitney was molested by Dionne Warwick’s sister, singer Dee Dee Warwick.

Dee Dee is not around to defend herself; she died in 2008 at age 63 following a long illness.

Dee Dee is Whitney’s cousin and the younger sister of pop legend Dionne Warwick, the family member who had the most influence on Whitney’s music career.

The documentary “Whitney” premiered at Cannes film festival on Wednesday night and the filmmakers waited until the end of the film to drop the shocking claim that the legendary singer was molested by her cousin at a young age.

Mary Jones, a longtime assistant to Houston, revealed in the documentary that Whitney told her Warwick had molested her.

“It made her question her sexual preference,” Jones told Entertainment Weekly.

In her 2013 book, “Remembering Whitney”, Cissy Houston, gospel singer and Whitney’s mother, makes no mention of molestation claims.

“I think she was ashamed,” Jones said of why Whitney never told her mother. “If Cissy had known, she would have done something about it, because Cissy loves her children.”

Whitney died of an accidental drowning at age 48 on Feb. 11, 2012 in a Beverly Hills hotel bathtub.

Her pop single “I Will Always Love You” is the fifth best-selling single in the world with certified sales of 20 million.

  1. Why won’t they just let her rest in peace. Just peddling dirt and gossip, if they didn’t speak when she was alive, stfu now.

  2. They ALL look alike. The resemblance of Dee Dee and Dionne is uncanny. They look like identical twins but are 5-6 years apart.

This is a sad revelation. what else the Houston’s got? I mean is there anything else they can reveal at this point?

  3. Black folks HATE when family business gets exposed. Another resason we can’t heal as a community.

You can’t heal what you don’t reveal.

  4. Dee Dee struggled with narcotics addiction for many years and was in failing health for some time. Her sister was with her when she died on October 18, 2008 in a nursing home in Essex County, New Jersey, aged 63.

Whitney followed this woman’s path 😥 so sad.

  5. Why can’t we just let dead folk and their business stay dead.
Who capitalizes off of this? Not Whitney’s only child.
I’d think Sissy still getting Elvis and Aretha money …
This is sad and wrong and they can keep it

  6. Damn! Wiki update folks ASAP. They don’t waste no time. They done changed Dee Dee’s page to say all of this and that she too was addicted to that narcotic. I’m sorry I’m in the minority. I believe this. She effected Whitney and ruined her in a sense. She killed a generation. Sad

  7. I can’t watch this documentary, i wouldn’t be any good afterwards and I don’t get all mushy over celebs, but Whitney was my favorite female singer. I couldn’t listen to secular music as a child and when i heard Greatest Love of All at a friend’s house, i was blown away. That woman had a gift from above. I hate she struggled the way she did in life. I hope she’s resting in peace 🙏.

  8. I believe it. Whitney always had a sadness about her and of course her drug addiction. You can always trace the issue a person has back to childhood trauma. She lived a sad life despite the fame and riches.

  9. I wouldn’t go as far to say this was the cause of her drug problems… I think that’s what a lot of folks get into. Drugs are made easily available to them. So a celeb on/doing drugs is believable. But she was always rumored to have a thing for chicks… this explains why. That’s why you can’t tell me gays can’t influence children to be gay because they can.

  10. Smmfh….everything that looks good on the outside aint good on the inside.
Y’all know as a whole that was not spoken of in some black homes. You were to remain silent about situations like this, so um assuming that’s the reason Whitney refused to tell Cissy. Shit like this was supposed to be taken to ones grave. 😥 Its sad but true. Aunty really needed to keep her trap shut due to the fact that whit can’t deny or confirm this mess.

  11. It seems completely plausible that Whitney’s troubles were in some part related to childhood sexual trauma. I hate to hear it was a family member, and particularly Dee Dee — who was herself a tragic figure — but this unfortunate revelation provides some basis for why Whitney engaged in such self-destructive behavior. Secrets, shame and trauma can kill your soul. She didn’t have everything and just threw it all away. She was in pain and torment, and wasn’t able to deal with it openly, so she sought escape in drugs.

  12. wow…really?? Now is the time to spill this??? Poor woman has been dead 6 years…and now is the time to tell a very personal story that I’m sure Whitney did not want shared….and the accused is deceased as well?? These folks are reaching….reaching hard…I mean how many “movies” are they going to make about Whitney?? Shit….leave it alone….

  13. It probably did happen. A lot of things going on in families that are not discussed. I believe if Cissy did know she would be deny it likes she’s does.

    1. I believe it’s plausible, and might explain some other aspects of her life (NOT saying that every gay person was molested, and NOT saying that all gays are potential molesters), just applying it to THIS case. anyway, these family secrets are some b.s., IMO! today’s elderly & revered patriarch/matriarch may be yesterday’s tormentor/molester. i’m sorry, but fuck them, NOW.

that’s why i have so little sympathy for Bill Cosby. yes, he’s an old man NOW, but he was at the height of his career and at the height of his (alleged) predatory offenses when he was still relatively young, fit, rich, and influential. no one could touch him then, so when is the “right” time to make him accountable?

  14. She had the total package, EVERYTHING!!! and a voice on a level all her own!

I won’t watch this documentary or any because I loved her as an artist, not just her music, but her realness!

The timing and motive is always under questioning because we really didn’t need to know this!

But if it is the truth, then be it!

  15. As long as the person is telling the truth and is not just looking for attention, I’m all for speaking the truth, so healing can begin. The black community (because I can’t relate to no other) covers up a lot of séxual abuse. Broken hearted children who turn into broken hearted adults, who are told to just get over it, seems to be the norm.

Gossiping about the dead goes on in every family this is nothing new. Regular families just don’t go to the press/media about it.

  16. Harboring that kind of pain and shame can definitely lead to some of the self-destructive behaviors that Whitney displayed throughout her life. Her brothers have admitted to being abused as children. If it’s true about Whitney, I understand better why she did some of the things she did and why she was so open to taking Nick’s crazy ass in from his family. It may also explain why she always insisted on taking Bobbi Kris with her when she toured instead of leaving her at home.

  17. Molestation is why many, I’m not saying ALL individuals who are gay, bi- sexual , etc are confused with their sexuality.. that confusion can also lead to self destruction such as drinking, drugs or promiscuous behaviors. Keep in mind, it’s all a facade and a mask to try and cover up that pain.

  18. Whitney Houston was abused on many levels and she was in a lot of pain. She did drugs from a young age to self medicate and died self medicating. Money can provide comfort, but money does not heal broken spirits.

  20. Cissy is a hot mess. There’s a reason Whitney never told her. If you can’t even go to your mother then who can you turn to?
