Kansas and Oklahoma are the latest states to pass legislation banning gay adoptions. The news comes weeks after two lesbians starved and murdered their 6 adopted children in a tragic murder-suicide.
The bills protect religious adoption agencies’ right not to place children with gay couples.
The legislation now goes to their respective governors to sign. Republican Mary Fallin of Oklahoma is still mulling over whether she will sign the bill into law, but Kansas Governor Jeff Colyer (also Republican) has confirmed he will sign.
“Catholic Charities and other adoption agencies are key to the fabric of our communities,” Colyer said Friday. “I look forward to signing this bill because it increases the opportunities for needy children to find loving homes.”
Colyer said children thrive in homes with a mommy and a daddy.
Lesbian couple Jennifer Hart and Sarah Hart, both 38, starved and abused their six adopted children (pictured below) for years, despite reports of abuse from teachers and friends.
The women drove their car off a cliff in Northern California killing themselves and their children in March. Two of the children — Hannah Hart, 15, and Devonte Hart, 16, are still missing.
The other states that have laws allowing only adoption by married heterosexual couples include Alabama, Michigan, Mississippi, North Dakota, South Dakota, Texas, and Virginia.
Georgia passed a bill in the House banning gay adoptions. The legislation next goes to the Senate before landing on the governor’s desk for signature.

and NOPE I don’t support the gay agenda whatsoever. These are people who want to perpetrate living a normal lifestyle when they are NOT!! God made ADAM & EVE NOT ADAM & STEVE OR EVE AND EVELYN.

There are plenty of heterosexual adoptive parents who are just as if not more disturbing then the 2 nut jobs who killed those kids.Pretty sure this has more to do with the homosexual morality phobia then the unfit parent angle. …….

Great!!!
Whatever the sexual origin of the couple abuse is abuse.

Exactly!!
It’s all about the mental stability of both! Look at that couple who starved their children and one was able to escape in order to report them. So c’mon no one is exempted.

So here is the rock and the hard place for this situation… there are hundreds of thousands of kids in foster care with little chance of adoption..so which of the two will mess the kid up more? Living their lives in a super broken system of abusive foster cares some being sexually and physically abused until they are 18 and then turned out on the streets or you give them to people who society deems unfit to be parents based on their sexual orientation? I am not advocating for one or the other I just want an honest hard thought answer..

HM??
Abusive? There is more abuse in single family homes than in group homes. I lived in a big one in upstate NY. The state didn’t play about us children back then. They stepped in at any hint of abuse.

Perversion is one of the main issues linked to mass murder, suicides and drugs use… gays kill themselves and others at an alarming rate. SO YES PARENTING SHOULD be decided based on sexual orientation and mental stability.

Religious ‘charities’ shouldn’t be involved with the government since they don’t pay taxes and aren’t subject to most laws.

Years ago, I worked with a straight woman, and her and her husband beat their adoptive child to death. Evil is not restricted to sexuality.

Just because those two women were evil doesn’t mean they (same sex couples) are all like that.

I straddle the fence on this because two people want to provide and care for a kid, why deny them that opportunity?

The bill protects religious adoption agencies rights…so that’s just a subset (not all adoption agencies just religious ones)…otherwise this would be discriminatory under federal equal protection law

This whole story is just all around sad and disgusting to me. People are sick. I understand why they are making this decision.

Children need a mother AND a father in their lives. Not 2 hormonal, overly emotional women. That man is going to bring balance and hopefully stability to a relationship that will foster unity, love and calm with craziness prevails.

So single people shouldn’t be able to adopt?

I totally agree with you Omar. There’s balance with a man and a woman. God knew what he was doing when put man and woman 2gether

Not exactly against anyone adopting: married, single, same sex or otherwise. As long as you have good intentions for the child or children you wish to adopt. Don’t adopt children to abuse them. and I believe all foster care agencies should followup and check on those children once placed with their adopted parent(s). One couple and their incident doesn’t necessarily speak for them all. Look at that crazy couple in CA who abused their 6 children. Luckily they got help.

The harder you make it to adopt the less likely kids will get adopted.

I wonder out of all of the children who were adopted or in foster care that have horror stories, how many were from openly gay couples?

Not enough to warrant these bills. Straight folks and their paranoia I tell you.

Nah, of course, hetero homes were the only selection at some point so the abuses would be predominantly theirs. It best to compare incidents of abuse since gay couples have been allowed to adopt recently.

I would like to see better screening and mandated follow up in ALL ADOPTIONS!!! Let’s also throw in foster care too while we are talking about innocent vulnerable children.

This is great….Many kids in the system already have enough issues. They don’t need to be made “projects” for gay people who feel they want what they want.
Too many people who support the gay agenda, don’t care about the needs of the kids. They just care about pleasing those who live an abnormal lifestyle. Everyone they come in contact with in the system need to be vetted.

Truth…I notice that many gay people think they are the epitome of “perfection” which is ironic to say the least.
Gays have a hard time admitting the truth when a gay people do something wrong. The very core of their lifestyle is wrong and it’s something many like to overlook, because then they have to admit the truth about themselves.

Exactly the media and the gays try to promote homosexuality as an improvement and a new and better way of thinking and acting. BULLSHIT.
