The jury in Bill Cosby’s retrial found the TV icon guilty of all three counts of aggravated indecent assault on Thursday for drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand in a Philadelphia suburb in 2004.
The 80-year-old comedian faces up to 10 years in prison on each count, but would likely serve them concurrently.
The case against Cosby centered on testimony from Constand, a former employee with Temple University women’s basketball team. She testified that Cosby, a powerful trustee at Temple, drugged her and sexually assaulted her when she visited his home to ask for career advice.
Cosby’s defense team argued that their interaction was consensual. Constand is a con artist, they argued, who wanted a piece of Cosby’s fortune.
The case is the first celebrity sexual assault trial since the #MeToo movement began last fall, and as such, represents a test of how the cultural movement will translate into a courtroom arena.
This is a good start!

Very sad!! imagine in his golden years he is dealing with this. But he was wrong, Although it’s sad that this man will most likely die in jail, hopefully many men realize what’s done in the dark can definitely come to light, they need to respect women and treat women fairly.
And women need to be smart too. We should not be going to a hotel room at 3am to chat with a man, we should not act like we are dumb and unaware, if it smells fishy it most likely is.

well damn….that is crazy….would they really send a 80 year old, blind man with health issues to the clink??? I would think some form of house arrest type deal would go…oh and no shade, no tea…but wouldn’t that woman have to pay back the 3.83 million because she disclosed?? was that not part of the settlement deal?? I have so many questions on this….I feel bad for him….damn….messing with them unattractive white women when you have a beautiful queen at home…..smdh

Hard for me to feel too sorry for Bill on this.
People can defend Bill all they want, and call these women all kinds of hoes or whatever names they want to call them.
But at the end of the day, I believe these women told the truth. And evidently the jury believed them too.

If I go over someone’s house and he gives me a drug to take. I take the drug WILLINGLY, we have sex, and he sends me home. The next day, I wake up and feel like something went terribly wrong but don’t say anything. The next day and the next day and the next day I keep going over this man’s house and repeat the cycle, this isn’t assault, this is a consensual arrangement. This man didn’t ”drug” these women they knew exactly what they were doing

I control the remote for the big TV at work. As soon as they showed them white woman standing in front of the courthouse holding hand, I turned the tv off. I’m for anything that Bill has done, but to watch white woman celebrate the legal lynching of an old black man is disgusting to me. I’m pro-black before anything else.

As DA Kevin Steele demanded the comedian’s bail be revoked because he is a flight risk after being found guilty of sexual assault, Bill Cosbyyelled out that ‘he doesn’t have a plane, you a**hole’ in outrage. It came after the jury of seven men and five women unanimously found Cosby guilty on all three counts of aggravated sexual assault: administering an intoxicant, rendering his victim unconscious and penetrating her without consent. The 80-year-old actor now faces spending the rest of his life in prison as each count carries a sentence of up to ten years imprisonment.

Several of his accusers were black, including the model Beverly Johnson. I found her story to be very believable.
(And by the way Beverly’s a rich woman, so it’s not like she had to make up some story to try and get money out of him.)

Cosby will be out free while appealing. This woman got 2 separate million dollar payouts from Cosby. The original….. then another one because he violated the terms of their original agreement by discussing the case and in which he made her look bad in the public light. She went for the money and she got paid millions.
Most people don’t know that she was fired for having an affair with Cosby, he went to the University Leadership and told them nothing was going on between them and that it was all rumors and gossip and they restored her job. It was well known on campus that she had a consensual affair with Cosby, she bragged about it. When he didn’t fulfill her dreams -Cosby-made her a lot of promises, movies, tv deals, talk shows – she felt used and betrayed and wanted revenge- truth is they were both using each other.

The Cosby situation goes to show you, when you piss off the wrong higher up, it will all come crumbling down. There is no way this case should’ve went to trial. Let me be clear, I’m not defending Cosby. Clearly he isn’t a decent person but if someone agrees to takes millions to keep quiet and so called other victims wait over 10 years to come forward, where does the justice system draw the line. But when the bigwigs want you gone, there is no line. Bill Cosby will probably never spend a day in jail but he’ll go broke trying to stay out and his name is ruined so the higher ups won.

Not making any excuses for Cosby’s behavior however, how is it that these allegations fell within the statute of limitations? And as far as the ‘hush money’ received by the victims, how is it that they weren’t held accountable by taking what could be viewed as a bribe? 🤔 Again, Cosby’s fetish is quite disturbing and his behavior with all these women beyond troubling!!

Hugh Hefner died a free man.
Harvey Weinstein will never see a police station.
Bill Cosby is targeted because he’s a wealthy black man that dared to aspire to buy a major television network. He bought all the little rascals media to stop the buckwheat stereotyping of black people. He incurred seething hatred for taking those stands. Like Michael Jackson incurred hatred for owning the Beatles catalog. Like Prince incurred hatred for owning all his masters.

Bill Cosby talked reckless about Black Folks for years and to my knowledge never really offered any solutions. Meanwhile he was drugging girls unnecessarily and raping them unnecessarily. I’m sure 9 out of 10 of those women would have slept with him for free if they thought it would advance their careers. I’m wondering how he’s gonna look in his orange jumpsuit…

Wait a minute – Bill told black folks the truth which was, brothers need to pull their pants up and rule your households and sisters close your legs until married. That’s not a reckless statement that’s a true statement….. that can be a solution to a lot of our problems.

Bill said some things that hit home and was hard yet necessary for many to hear but while he was harshly chastising Black Folks in public he was being a scoundrel in private — not holding his own self accountable to the high moral standards that he demanded of the rest of us. I bet Bill thought he’d gotten away with all the drugging and raping folks once he hit 80 years old but there is always a reckoning. If even one of the 58 accusers is being honest (and we know it’s a lot more than that) he deserves to be outed. Since he has one foot in the grave I don’t know what would be appropriate punishment for him, but I’m glad this was exposed.

Since I have been scrolling past Facebook friends’ post, listening to radio talk show host, discussing with family members their reaction, I have been a bit disappointed. But there’s some themes about rape culture and culture that I need people to just…stop:
1. “Them bitches weren’t beautiful. He had all those beautiful black women on his show and he ain’t do anything to them.”
Okay. Rape ain’t about beauty you can’t resist. It’s not “sex”. It’s violence. It’s power play. It’s humiliation. It predatory in the same way people consider murder or to kick ass–you don’t have to believe that the people you are harming are “beautiful”, you simply want to harm them. And hold up: some of the women he abused early on were Black women. They didn’t have much of a voice to speak out because, duhh, they’re black women. Did it take a white women to set him on fire? As always, yes. Not fair, but that doesn’t make him not guilty either.
2. “Why now? This is a scheme. They don’t want him to take over x, y, and z. They want to bring down another black man.”
Okay, a “lovable” TV icon is on the scaffold. The characters he portrayed were indeed lovely and lovable. People across America loved him. White people love the anomaly he presented to black life (the no excuses, pick yourself up off your bootstraps shit)–it fit the infamous “war on drugs” ideals of the day. But actually, who he portrayed was just that…characters. We never known who he “truly” was. And stop bringing up Camille and how she stuck by his side as a way to prove his innocence. Black or whatever, it is extremely common for wives to stick by their predatory-ass man’s side regardless of what wrong they have done, even if the harm was done upon them. We don’t know Camille’s suffering. Think: Sandusky, Trump, etc.
If you are worried about lovable Black men who are unfairly targeted for some prison time, please campaign at you local prisons to “Free ____” (choose a name from the list of millions of Black men incarcerated for nonviolent crimes).
3. “Why now? He’s old.”
Hmmm, if that bitch who was at the forefront of Emmett Till’s murder was re-tried and sentenced to life in prison, I would HOPE and would be certain that streets would be filled with, at very least, black people celebrating. Now, while sexual assault and rape may not be of the same degree of permanence as is the mutilation and murder of an individual–as, they are forever dead and gone–it’s violence to be lived every day in your mind and shit, in the present if your abuser is just living their life assaulting more women or yourself. No matter your age, you do horrible shit, you need to pay for it.
4. “This should not define him.”
If a person washes everyday, goes to check ups at the doctor bi-anually, washes their hair, brushes their teeth but decides to spend about an hour a day laying in trash, would we consider them dirty? Yes, the good you do matters. But I find it quite normal in nature to consider the bad you do more salient, especially if it adversely effects others.
5. “These white dudes aren’t going to prison! He shouldn’t either!”
Ooooh, I’m about that racial equality, too. But let’s change that around.
“Cosby ought to go to prison and so should his little white offender friends.”
Ahh, there, that’s better.
