Donald Trump, Legal Woes

FBI Raid On Trumps lawyer Signals Dark Times Ahead For President Trump

Oh I sense some dark days ahead for President Trump.

The FBI raid against Michael Cohen spiked President Donald Trump’s rampant indignation over the Robert Mueller probe to previously unseen heights, multiplying the persecution complex he feels about the FBI and his own Justice Department and fueling his sense he’s the target of a witch hunt.

And it suggests that Cohen, who paid off adult film star Stormy Daniels, could be a bridge between the two separate legal strands threatening Trump.

“There is no way that they are looking for things that don’t connect to the President in some way,” Anne Milgram, a former New Jersey attorney general told CNN’s Anderson Cooper of the Cohen raid. “It really is an unbelievable day when you start to think about what is happening, what we are going to see next.”

Trump’s rage continued into Tuesday morning, when he tweeted that “Attorney–client privilege is dead!” and referred to a “A TOTAL WITCH HUNT!!!,” his preferred moniker for Mueller’s investigation.

“We are in pretty treacherous territory here. It’s unprecedented to my knowledge to have the President’s personal attorney raided like this,” said CNN senior political analyst David Gergen. “They must have been able to present evidence that was hugely compelling to take a step like this.

Sources inside the White House say that Trump sees the move against Cohen as proof that Mueller has leaped far beyond the constraints of his original probe into whether his campaign operatives colluded with Russia.

The fact that Cohen — a relentless, unyielding protector of Trump — was hit by a search warrant particularly fed Trump’s anger.

“It’s a disgrace, it’s, frankly, a real disgrace, it’s an attack on our country in a true sense. It’s an attack on all we stand for,” Trump told reporters at the White House.

An FBI raid on the offices of a lawyer employed by a sitting President is something that is without precedent in modern political memory.

  1. Republican = Jeff Sessions
    Republican = Rob Rosenstein
    Republican = James Comey
    Republican = Andrew McCabe
    Republican = Christopher Wray
    Republican = Bob Mueller

    Republican = Geoffrey Berman;
    New York US Attorney authorizing Cohen raid. Staunch Trump donor, supporter and friend of Rudy Guilani. Berman was personally CHOSEN by Trump in January 2018 after firing the previous US Attorney.

    House = 237 Republicans; 192 Democrats
    Senate = 54 Republicans; 46 Democrats

    REPUBLICANS hold all the cards and YET they are not offering cover. This leads me to believe that Donald Trump has done something too egregious to be ignored.

  4. They act like the president is so innocent and pure. We all know he is corrupt and we all know that obviously there was some evidence to allow the Judge to make such determination that such search was needed. Lets see what happens.

  5. What a waste of time and tax dollars. Nothing will come of this. There is not a white man alive that will do a day in prison on these charges.

    This must be some sort of distraction.

  6. Isn’t this the same FBI trump and his rabid supporters were cheering a little over a year ago for reopening an investigation into Clinton? They were chanting “Benghazi” and “Lock her up!” like they were crazy, but now when the shoe is on the other foot it’s a “witch hunt”? Boy, bye.

  7. The lawyer is an idiot who went out of his way to announce to the world that he paid the porn star out of his own pocket. I guess he thought that would somehow help in distancing trump from the scandal, but did he even need to tell us that? He brought these people to his door himself.

  8. Trump is useless to the Republican Party at this point. They just wanted him to get their tax reform bill passed and that’s it. He is a liability during this election cycle, so they are going to let the chips fall where they may. I don’t see Trump making it til 2019 as the president. Even the Republicans are tired of his bullshyt at this point

      1. That woman responded in her tweet up top that in order for the FBI to raid his lawyer, they had probable cause.

  10. I wonder if Cohen will sell out Trump…The Feds don’t give two shyts about Stormy. I believe they want to put pressure on him to spill the beans about the Putin & Trump love affair…

  12. Yup. He’s under suspicion of possible wire fraud. If they stack up multiple counts on that, he could be looking at 20+ years in prison. If he’s got dirt on Trump when it comes to Russia or money-laundering, he’d be smart to let Mueller and the Feds know what he knows. At the end of the day Trump will have no problem throwing him under the bus, so Cohen better look out for himself.

  13. Did Sarah Sanders really stand up in a press conference and say that Trump thinks he can fire Mueller? At this point, can this administration really be this DUMB or is Trump trying to get impeached for obstruction of justice? Has no one told him how orchestrating the firing of special counsel worked out for Nixon? Are they really that DUMB? Asking for a friend.

    1. I would say the saddest period in America was the Jim Crow laws-era, as enacted by Democratic Party-controlled legislatures. You know when segregation was accepted as law and we were treated as second class citizens. During Trump’s presidency, Black unemployment is at it’s lowest rate since it started being recorded in the 70’s, so no 11/8/2016, the day Trump was elected, was not a sad day in America.

  15. Everybody mad at Trump, but they should ONLY be mad at the people who put him in office. Trump is the same dude… He been this way for yearssss. The only thing that changed folks wanted him to be our president. I feel bad for him because he wanted to be President, but at what cost??? smh They trying to get at everybody around him…I wonder what is he going to be left with when this dumb presidency is over with.

  16. I think the Feds’ conviction rate is like 97% or something. Michael Cohen knows he’s in trouble.

    I fully expect Cohen to turn on Trump to save his own skin, because at the end of the day Trump will only be loyal to Trump, no-one else.

  17. The lawyer should have executed Attorney/Client privilege and STFU!
    Do not comment, go on these shows , etc etc
    You set yourself and client up and opened the both of you up for scrutiny.
    You lied to the bank to obtain the 130K, the funny payment from the campaign, in the same amount, less than a week later was suspicious. Your client saying he didn’t know about the payment nor commit the affair, stupid. If there was no affair why did you pay her and have her sign a NDA which your client did not sign, which makes it VOID!
    Has nothing to do with the special counsel, who if the President fires, will end his Presidency.
