Conversations Of A Sistah is back! And our topic of discussion is Racism in America!
Racism has fostered inequality and discrimination for centuries, as well as influencing how we relate to other human beings as a whole. Racial hatred and bigotry is also on the rise in this country at an all-time high. It’s like history is repeating itself with the massive killings of unarmed African-America men, women and children.
Since the rise in these killings around the country, the unrest has unveiled the “Black Lives Matter” organization. An International Activist Movement, originating in the African American Community that campaigns against violence geared toward people of color. This organization has in many ways adopted some of the same strategies as the Civil Rights Movement. The purpose of the movement was to make sure that all citizens, all races, all religious groups and all nationalities are treated equally under the law.
Join me tonight at 6:30 p.m. on “Conversations Of A Sistah” on Blog Talk Radio as we commemorate the birthday of the late Dr. Martin Luther King on the discussion of “Racism In America Today ~ As It Relates To Dr. Martin Luther King’s Vision.
My special guest on this topic is the Rev. Floyd Thompkins (pictured left), former pastor of Antioch Baptist Church in San Jose CA. One of the second oldest black churches west of the Mississippi River. As of today Rev. Thompkins is also the director of the Center for Innovation in Ministry at San Francisco Theological Seminary.
All “Conversations links” in this post make it possible to access the show!
See you on the air!
Racism in America is real and it’s a far cry from the reality of King’s dream. But of course I’ll be tuned in.

Unfortunately King’s dream was just a dream, some of it is a reality but the rest is just a dream. Esp. since racism and race issues are at an all-time high. If King only knew how the cops are gunning down these young black men and black women lawd. I guess we’d be marching 4ever.
Great show topic and I’ll be tuning in.

Racism today was not apart of King’s dream just as it wasn’t when he spoke about it in his famous “I have a Dream” speech some 50 years ago…Sad that such times still exist but since we got a black president, unfortunately they do

Great topic WRONG guest.
he said 1 thing I agreed with and that was “we got too comfortable with the movement” they immortalized King and did away with the dream.

Good show Tracy.
The minister was positive instead of conservative.
He took a position that I was shocked about. But he’s right the church does need a voice but so many believe the church is a joke.

Hello Tracy and Carolyn,Happy new years to you all. I see that you are back and on the grind again. I wanted to see if Tracy could still do that bio for me. I just feel that Tracy could put this together for me in a way that will stand out in my future plans. I was wanting something that covers the information “Resume” that i sent a while back. I just wanted to add some more information, awards ECT. If you can do this for me, please let me know. If you need more information, i have it. That resume was an old one that i just listed things that i have done in order to pick out items that applied to particular jobs ECT. Much Love!Rich
