50 Cent thinks he knows why “Empire’s” ratings dipped in its second episode of the season — too much “gay stuff.”
“There are 3 million less viewers who tuned into last weeks Empire episode!!!! did you watch it?” Fiddy said in his Instagram post. “We could not take the extra gay stuff or celebrity stuff last night!!!!”
50 Cent chimed in with his own commentary by urging Taraji P. Henson‘s “Empire” character “Cookie” to call him for help.
“EMPIRES TV RATINGS TOOK A HUGE HIT. Ok I’ll stop now. COOKIE CALL ME BABY. I’ll tell every body to watch the show for you. LOL,” he wrote.
“Empire” attracted a massive 16 million viewers during its premiere last week. But the ratings dipped on Wednesday nights viewing to 13.7 million viewers. While those are still huge numbers, 50 Cent has a long-running spat with “Empire” and jumped at the chance to gloat.
The rapper, who in the past has accused the Fox series of copying the promotional campaign of his Starz drama “Power,” mocked the Fox series last week on Instagram after it took a dig at him in its Season 2 premiere.
The rapper is being petty no doubt because his hit series “Power” does not compare to “Empire”.

For the 1st time ever I actually agree with 50 Cent. I have no problem watching a show with gay characters but when it gets to a point where you’re throwing it in my face it’s a problem. I don’t know if it has to do with the creator being gay or what but there needs to be some kind of balance if they want this show to have a longevity.

The writing for the premier of empire was sooooooo bad. And what happened to the Manipulative white chick and bi polar brother turn into a loving couple?? Cookie just ghetto with no fabulous. The guys all seem gay. The women are all bisexual cookie was a madam having Anika sleep with a woman for what? Lol 😛 the writing was awful the first episode. I was done when cookie had on a guerilla suit and came out of a damn cage.

Last weeks episode almost put me to sleep. The plot lines were everywhere and it seems like they tried to cram as many characters into a scene as they possibly can. Hakim looks a lil tired too he may need some cucumbers for his eyes and some monistat on his lips to make them pink again.

Power is MUCH BETTER than Empire!! I must admit that that kissing scene turned me off, I just can’t. It makes me mad that they gay people want everyone to be tolerant and accepting of them but they have little tolerance or acceptance of anyone that disagrees with them. Maybe LOGO will pick it up! I hope it gets better because so far it has been a let down.
