Comedian Bill Cosby…is really a rapist?

Bill Cosby...is a rapist
Bill Cosby…is a rapist

Bill Cosby is best remembered for The Cosby Show, Fat Albert and those Jell-O pudding pop commercials but lately, the comedian who has that ‘father figure’ image is being accused of sexual assault. An image that is contradictory to this voice and message he sends to the black community.

Comedian Hannibal Buress jogged our memory in a stand up routine he did last weekend and reminded us all that Bill Cosby is an accused rapist. Buress homed in during his set Thursday at the Trocadero Theatre in Philadelphia (Cosby’s home town).

“And it’s even worse because Bill Cosby has the fucking smuggest old black man public persona that I hate,” Buress said.  “Pull your pants up, black people. I was on TV in the ’80s. I can talk down to you because I had a successful sitcom. Yeah, but you raped women, Bill Cosby. So, brings you down a couple of notches. … I’ve done this bit onstage, and people don’t believe. People think I’m making it up. …That shit is upsetting. If you didn’t know about it, trust me. You leave here and google ‘Bill Cosby rape.’ It’s not funny. That shit has more results than Hannibal Buress.”

Burress is correct!

The myriad allegations leveled against Bill Cosby over the years are no joke. In 2004, Andrea Constand brought a civil lawsuit against Cosby that grew to include 13 other women, all of whom reported being drugged and raped by one of America’s most beloved entertainers. Cosby settled with her under undisclosed terms in 2006.

Notably, two other women — who presumably had nothing to gain financially, as the statute of limitations had run out on their cases — also shared their stories with major media outlets. Their accounts included  similar details: Cosby took them under his wing and, on multiple occasions, fed them alcohol laced with drugs and assaulted them.

And yet, despite the multiple victims and reports of a decades-long streak of rape, America seems to have chosen to forgive and forget. Completing the circle of denial, Cosby’s new biography conspicuously omits his sexual assault allegations, as if they never happened. Cosby and his lawyers are slick, they prove that with money and power, incidents like this can be swept and kept under a rug.

So there it is people, Dr. Huxtable — America’s dad — isn’t that lovable television character “in real life” who visited your living rooms week after week. The man is a slick accused rapist. His time is up though and I believe his season of exposure has come. Why? Because in time, God reveals all things.

Because they know if/when the victim complains or report them no one will believe them. Cosby was slick that’s why he drugged them all. SMH

which is why he settled with Andrea Constand he knew her lawyer was about to bring on 13 other women to testify what he had done to them, which is why he settled to avoid trial. If the accusations weren’t true, all 13 women wouldn’t have the same story. A LIE doesn’t add up but the TRUTH always does.

Because celebrities often know it’s cheaper to just pay people instead of spending millions in lawyer and court fees, whether they are guilty or not.

But he’s never been criminally prosecuted for said accusations? Fair enough if he was prosecuted for 13 rapes, but being accused of something is very different to being prosecuted for something.

Yes, allegations from 13 women should raise eyebrows. However, it hasn’t been proven that he committed these acts and it’s stupid for us to all fight over how his actions do or don’t suggest his guilt.

CoSign Man……So let me interject this………If I were innocent I would not pay one penny to a false allegation/accusation. Instead I would spend all those hundreds of thousands of dollars on a good legal teem to find definitive proof of my innocence to clear my name.

      13. There are myriad reasons that celebrities settle these things that have nothing to do with actual guilt. In 1997, Cosby admitted to infidelity when testifying in the Autumn Jackson extortion case, and that he paid over $100,000 to his mistress (Autumn Jackson’s mother) to keep the information secret.

That admission, with the confirmation that he would pay to avoid embarrassment, made him an open target to accusations, whether real or wholly invented. Given his fame, money, and decades on the road, 14 accusations are proof of nothing against hundreds of potential encounters – except his poor moral compass and judgement.

      14. I get it. Innocent until proven guilty. Allegations, not convictions. All the women settled.

But here is the thing: 13 women!
13 women independently accusing him of rape, telling basically the same story about his AMO over and over again! If this is a conspiracy, it would be the largest and most elaborate one in the history of rape allegations. None of these cases will ever see the inside of a courtroom, because they all settled and the statue of limitation period has probably ended a long time ago, but that doesn’t mean you’re not supposed to believe the logic of it, as well as what your gut feeling tells you in this case. I’d be very suprised if Cosby would sue anyone for slander and defamation.

All I’m saying is where’s the proof?
        ——–
I don’t know if there is any proof. I don’t know if the victims proved a date rape drug was found in their blood stream? I don’t know if they had rape kits done through an ER. All of these things were not made public which is why Cosby settled OUT OF COURT! The info tied to the case will not be disclosed.

  4. Of course Mr. Cosby can’t possibly be guilty! He’s above all the temptations of powerful men, he’s Dr. Huxtable, for goodness sakes. Luckily, many folks won’t even entertain the possibility of his committing such vile acts. He is as incorruptible as a Catholic priest! O_o

  7. Although Cosby hasn’t been proven guilty in a court of law doesn’t mean he’s not guilty. He’s just been real good and slick at getting away with it. 13 women can’t all be lying.
