The roles that we play…Tonight on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

letgoofthemask

Some of us just don’t live in the truth but live fantasies every single day to satisfy impressions or to sway opinions. One of the aspects of life that systems pays close attention to is that of roles.

What roles do you play in your life right now? We start out as son or daughter and perhaps a sibling. Later we become cousins, aunts, uncles, wives, husbands, mothers or fathers. Within our family of origin we play deeper roles: the responsible one, the lost one, the scapegoat, the mascot. Often these follow in the order of birth with the responsible one being the eldest and the cute one being the youngest.

There are many ways that people can influence our behavior, but perhaps one of the most important is that the presence of others seems to set up expectations and these expectations produce role play.

Social roles are the part people play as members of a social group. With each social role you adopt, your behavior changes to fit the expectations both you and others have of that role.

Think of how many roles you play in a single day, e.g. son, daughter, sister, brother, students, worker, friend etc.  Each social role carries expected behaviors.

Join me tonight at 8:00 PM on Conversations Of A Sistah” via “Conversations Live” as we explore the roles we play in life, real or fake?

Women can be going thru hell at home, husband/man cheatin n the whole 9 yards but some will neva keep it real with this truth in a social setting. They’ll pretend all is golden on the home front.

Yup!!!! case n point that series on STARZ (POWER) Tasha feels she have it all but she’s not secure. Ghost (played by Omari Hardwick-wit his fine azz) is cheatin on her w/a HS sweetheart but when she gets wit her girlz she pretends everything is golden. knowing damn well her man is cheatin.

      4. Olivijah, they both playing social roles. He’s a big-time drug dealer and using the club as a big business front. Da club bring in the bucks but that selfish ass Tasha don’t want her husband (Omari) to get out the game. So Tracy’s topic is ON POINT!

      5. Adam, I don’t really see Angie as the side chick I see Tasha as the runner up…. If Angie didn’t leave to go to school Tasha wouldn’t be in the picture period!

It doesn’t matter. Ghost never loved Tasha the way he loves Angie. True love, true passion. I love it. I bet Tasha would give it all up now. Too late though. She has been too caught up with greed.

I love that show POWER season finale Saturday.

The easiest and best way to push a man away is to emasculate him at every turn and not listen to and support his wishes…..not saying it’s right that’s he’s fucking Angie, but I understand why he is
