Could You Live without water? The Residents of Detroit are!

More than 2,000 Detroit residents took to the streets last week to protest the “discriminatory” water shut offs in their city.

The NAACP Legal Defense Fund complained that the water shut offs were “racially motivated,” and that the city was targeting “the most vulnerable citizens” while ignoring major corporations who are millions of dollars delinquent on their water bills.

In the meantime, the water department showed favoritism to corporations while targeting poor blacks who can’t flush their toilets, take showers or have the use of water as a bare necessity. Instead the folks who are being cut off are almost one hundred percent African-American.

This is not only a human rights issue but a disgrace that this is happening in what is supposed to be one of the richest countries in the world.

  5. I saw a documentary on the drug game in Detroit…dope boys up there bragging about how they bring home what I bring home every month…like if I’m gonna risk going to jail or getting my wig split I better be making WAAYYYYY more than a professional working man’s salary…

  13. I bet U these same people don’t pay their rent or pay mortgages. They don’t pay a gas bill, electric bill or taxes. Why would they be expected to pay their water bill?

  16. Alot of these free loaders don’t know that, this is just the beginning. As the illegals begin arriving, it’s not just the water that’s going to be cut, it’s going to be your EBT, your SNAP, your Obama phones and your medicaid. people need off their big butts and do something for themselves.

  17. Can’t pay your bills, but you can afford manicures, hair dressers, shopping etc. yet pay the bills last. This is not a human right issues but a WHERE IN THEE HELL ARE YOUR PRIORITIES ISSUE!!!!!!!!!!!!
