DJango Unchained, Jamie Foxx, Movie News, New Movie Release, What she said

DJango Unchained was OFF The Hook!!!!

Jamie_Foxx_DJango_Unchained

Forget what Spike Lee said about boycotting DJango unchained, he is not the author of what is an insult to another director’s creativity when it comes down to making movies. Spike Lee criticizes anyone who is doing what he’s done in “his heyday” and that is; producing a good film. He’s criticized Tyler Perry and quite frankly I’m tired of his two cents. Spike need to focus on his prized possession, the Knicks and Shut the hell up!!!

When I heard this movie was about slavery, I was Leary about going to see it thinking it was going to piss me off being reminded of those sad times in history. but I was surprisingly mistaken by the humor, romance, and candid story of this film and I loved it.

Written and Directed by Quentin Tarantino, Jamie Foxx is the real hero in the end, as his mentor Dr. King Schultz (played by Christopher Waltz – pictured with Foxx above) gives him the freedom as a slave, the knowledge as his mentor and some real fire arm power to go along with it…And although Quentin Tarantino has written the word “NIGGER” 176 times in his script, it was of no surprise to me because the word was as common then, as it is today.

Samuel-L-Jackson_DJango

This movie which star’s Leonardo DiCaprio, Samuel L. Jackson (whose character you’d love to despise), Kerry Washington, Christopher Waltz and Jamie Foxx as Django. Jackson’s character was a dedicated Uncle Tom, he was the overseer of his master’s house and hated his “own kind” (other slaves) as if he weren’t ever considered apart of them. He was a free slave who oversees the other slaves — named Stephen.

“DJango Unchained” is a must see movie, for those I guess who have a mind of their own!

  2. Pretty typical of people that want to boycott a movie that says the Nigger word. But wait…Its said in the Rap songs, Stand up Comedy and you laugh. And if given the opportunity and with money in your pocket you will buy the CD. So if the white man says Nigger, you got a problem with it. Get over it. The movie was Excellent.

  9. I can’t understand what Spike Lee meant by saying the movie was an insult to his ancestors. he didn’t elaborate on it either. but I saw the movie and thought it was excellent.

  11. I won’t say that Spike Lee is a “hater” but I will say that, IN MY OPINION, Spike is on some shit whereas he thinks he’s the only one who can tell a story about black folk. Other than “X,” what significant stories has he told since? That “Santa Anna” flick was garbage. “He Got Game” might as well have been “He Got Garbage.”

Spike hatin cause he ain’t doing shit!

    1. QTip, I can’t help but agree with the sentiment that Spike is “hatin’.” When he was on his come-up, he didn’t have cats like Melvin Van Peebles and Bill Duke shouting shit on him.

  12. Jango was a good movie and I’m tired of hearing Spike talk down about people just because he can and the media giving him an outlet. he has to remember he isn’t the only person who can make a movie or a documentary, he needs to go sat down somewhere and STHU!

  13. Tracy my thing is this: How can spike even comment on a movie he hasn’t even seen. So how would he know it’s disrespectful to his ancestors? That in its-self is disrespectful…then to speak negative about a movie — spike is a Hater and he is jealous. Smh

  14. Quentin Tarantino’s “Django Unchained” has caused quite a bit of controversy. The movie, which was released on Dec. 25, has sparked strong opinions from moviegoers and Hollywood heavyweights alike.

The latest to weigh in on the film is director Antoine Fuqua (“Training Day”). “I don’t think Quentin Tarantino has a racist bone in his body,” Fuqua said, according to THR. “Besides, I’m good friends with Jamie Foxx and he wouldn’t have anything to do with a film that had anything racist to it.”

Director Spike Lee (“Inside Man”) heated things up when he spoke out against the film. “All I’m going to say is that it’s disrespectful to my ancestors,” Lee said in an interview with VIBETV. “That’s just me…I’m not speaking on behalf of anybody else.”

He also tweeted his distaste for “Django Unchained.”

“That’s just not the way you do things,” Fuqua said, THR reports. “If you disagree with the way a colleague did something, call him up, invite him out for a coffee, talk about it. But don’t do it publicly.”

  15. There is a lot of controversy surrounding this movie; spike lee and now minister Farrakhan but this is how Tarintino explained himself.

“I set out to write a really heart-wrenching story of slavery in the antebellum South, combined with an operatic, mythical spaghetti Western story of a Black man who is a slave. Then [we] see his mythical rise to not only become a man but to become a professional bounty hunter who would literally go into the mouth of hell to extract his princess….Quentin Tarantino

      2. So let me get this straight: Of all of the racially tinged movies already in existence this movie in particular happens to be the springboard that could catapult society into a race war??? Yeah ok… *_* <<– side eye.

      4. They want one (RACE WAR). Badly. They’ve been trying to set it off for a long time now, so the idea was already firmly planted in their minds without this movie.

Tarantino was only depicting what it really looks like TO THEM.

      5. About that race war… it’s already started as far as white folks are concerned. They’ve been talking about it on Stormfront and every other neo-Nazi skinhead Klan website and magazine and book for the past 20-30 years.

  20. I think Spike Lee’s a good director but he’s dead wrong on this one, Django was fantastic and no way disrespectful. Unless Spike’s ancestors were anything like Samuel L. Jackson’s character, there’s nothing disrespectful at all about this movie. And he’d know that if he bothered watching it before passing judgment on it.

  21. Tarintino wrote and directed this movie on his own terms. Fuck the naysayers and the haters., I thought the flick was hot. Jamie FoxX was a black man shuttin shit down and Samuel L. Jackson, well I hated that monfuckers character. I was happy as hell when his azz got capped in the end.
