President Obama Endorses Gay Marriage…Mm

President Barack Obama is expected to make a statement endorsing gay marriage in America in his statements today. Sounds like the president caved under pressure from special interest groups and gay rights organizations in an effort to win re-election.

Update: Here is the statement that Obama made endorsing gay marriage just moments ago during an interview with ABC’s Robin Roberts.

OBAMA: I have to tell you that over the course of several years as I have talked to friends and family and neighbors when I think about members of my own staff who are in incredibly committed monogamous relationships, same-sex relationships, who are raising kids together, when I think about those soldiers or airmen or marines or sailors who are out there fighting on my behalf and yet feel constrained, even now that Don’t Ask Don’t Tell is gone, because they are not able to commit themselves in a marriage, at a certain point I’ve just concluded that for me personally it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same-sex couples should be able to get married.

Wow I’m shocked that the president went this route in an effort to win a re-election. Bush denounced same-sex marriage and was still re-elected and I can respect that but President Obama’s decision seem desperate and morally unethical!!!

  1. Here is what I have to say and I will leave it alone…
Why does anybody have the right to or not to condemn people for their decisions to or not to be gay, straight, married, unmarried, single parient or otherwise? I hate when people who has their ass on their shoulder about what someone else is doing their own private lives!

But Pres. Obama’s stance on this subject is being referred to as an ‘evolving’ position.

      Do some reasearch.

My President has NEVER been against gay marriage. He jsut never spoke on it.

When you go from endorsing domestic partnership decisions and civil unions, to full agreement for same sex marriage, that’s an EVOLUTION…

Marriage is between one man and one woman and that has nothing to do with equal rights and anything else outside of that, is an abomination in the eyesight of God. I make no apologies for what I believe. That’s my stance and if you care to read more of my take and belief on this subject please travel here: http://www.truthandmyth.com/Archive4.html

      1. I’m not interested, to be blunt, in your beliefs, but rather in your case for why those beliefs should be taken into consideration by, and forced by law onto, those who don’t share them.

Unless you can provide evidence that same-sex marriage is inherently harmful, you have no case.

Sadly the cynic in me, who’s had this conversation many times, is not hopeful that you have such evidence, but I’m always willing to be surprised.

Umm, please don’t misconstrue my comment/post or my stance on this issue…I never said “same-sex marriage was harmful” what I said was: “IT’S AN ABOMINATION” (i.e., a disgrace, offensive, immoral) why? because God made WOMAN FOR MAN and MAN FOR WOMAN which is why a man can come from the womb of a woman and man was created to be the giver not the reciever, anything opposite of this creative act is against the will of GOD…Point-Blank-Period!!!! Therefore if you view this all as harmful, then so be it…The first marriage honored of creation, was the marriage between Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve or Eve and Evelyn. And my evidence is not only the fact of mankind but my Bible but if you’re not a believer, there will be nothing in it that you will read and recieve. Ya see the “Bible is Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth” -and if you don’t believe you won’t be instructed.

        🙂

      3. Never meant to imply that you said it was harmful, merely that you need to show that it is if you want it to be illegal.

Or of course, you could give a decent explanation as to why as to your beliefs should be forced on others by law, while, I assume, theirs shouldn’t be forced on you by the same means.

If my religion was against the eating of peas on Thursdays, would you be happy to have eating peas on Thursdays made illegal? If not, then how is your religion’s belief regarding homosexuality any different?

I’m sorry but I don’t know how to address what you’re saying here. What I can say is, same sex marriage and homosexuality in no way compare to not eating peas on Thursday. but ok.

      5. Doesn’t matter if its eating peas (that was just an analogy), marrying a person of the same gender or anything else. The fact is that you’re apparently willing to have your own personal beliefs forced on other people, who don’t share those beliefs, by law.

What I’m asking you Is how do you justify that position, and how do you justify what I assume is your other position—that other people’s beliefs shouldn’t be forced on you by law?

        —————-
@Daz: The laws that you speak of “ARE OF THIS WORLD” they are the laws of man not the laws of God. When you honor the laws of God, you live out HIS laws and NOT the laws of man. God’s law is: marriage is between one man and one woman anything else is an abomination in the eyesight of Christ. And with this same sex marriage being so pushed in our face this is the beginning of the moral decline of man in this world. The Bible speak of these days and God’s Word is coming to past with this “man made law”.

You still need to answer the one question I’ve repeatedly asked: Why should your belief be legally privileged over their equally strongly-held belief?

Looking forward to any reply that contains an actual answer to this quite simple question.

I’m gay? Shit, what do I tell the wife?

Indeed, she was very clear about why she thinks same-sex marriage is wrong. What she wasn’t clear about at all was why her religious belief that something is wrong should trump someone else’s equally strongly held belief that it is right. Why should a law maker privilege her over the other person?

        Like

      12. Daz if I’m repeating myself its because you keep asking me the same question just in a different way.

But let me answer exactly what you’re asking here: “my beliefs shouldn’t be forced on anyone” TRUE!!!! I just so happen to believe what God’s true intent for man and woman is and that is that they marry to procreate. Man and man cant procreate just like woman and woman cannot. It’s un-natural..which is why mans law is not in line with God’s. Now because this same sex marriage is man’s law it’s not Gods, which again as I previously stated is AN ABOMINATION!!!.

Now for those who don’t believe in God that’s their salvation. And an excuse to live in sin.

I hope this answer was entertaining for you but I know it’s not because IT IS NOT what you want to hear.

        Like

      13. Oh dear…

You’re not answering my question, is why I keep asking it. I’m not asking about god’s law, but about man’s.

One person holds belief ‘A’ to be God’s law.

Another person holds the opposite belief, ‘B’, to be God’s law.

Both A and B are supported by different interpretations of the same scripture. To an impartial observer, they both have equal-seeming scriptural validity.

The impartial observer is asked to pass a law on the subject of these beliefs. Remember, the observer is completely impartial—this is important.

I’m asking how you justify choosing either belief over the other.

There is no JUSTIFICATION God’s Word is FACT!!!! If you read my comments back, I specifically stated: “I live by my convictions and my convictions will always support the TRUTH of what I stand on.” God’s Word and God’s LAW IS THE TRUTH!!!!! And most can’t handle that. They want to argue it and debate it when’s it’s not up for neither.

However, the Bible is not for the unbeliever and if you’re an unbeliever nothing I say here will satisfy you because you’re looking for me to tell you something different, when it’s all the same. I’ve stated my stance and answered you completely, now I’m done!!!! Not how I took it from what I read. Has nothing to with thinking her law maker (God) is priveledged because GOD IS SOVERIEGN!!!! His law is the Written Word son. And God did not intend for same sexes to marry, if that were the case, it would be natural for us to procreate with animals. It’s sick!!!! period!!!! I’ll expand, as you don’t appear to realise what the words “my apologies” mean.

I had gained the impression that you were advocating making, or keeping, same-sex marriage illegal. If your words “my beliefs shouldn’t be forced on anyone” mean that you wouldn’t force your belief on others by law, even though you personally disapprove of what they do, then obviously I was mistaken and had no reason to think that you meant such a thing.

      35. @DAZ –> YOU HAVE ONLY 2 choices:

        1. you can follow the crowd ( society, trends, popularity )
        2. or you can follow the Lord

I say this in the wake of the heathen’s speech concerning so-called gay marriage. Your unbelief won’t change the punishment reserved for every evil doer/evil teacher under the sun.

When God sees that you are not willing to change your evil ways, He will go ahead and keep you in that evil frame of mind, then punish you on judgement day!

        Read:

        ROMANS 1:26-27

26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

You missed the third choice. I could do what I think is right, regardless of what the crowd thinks, or whether it’s written down in a book somewhere.

And please, my unbelief is my business. I came ranting onto this blog mistakenly, I admit that; but I never once asked you to give up your belief in god. When/if I do, please feel free to attack my atheism. Deal?

If anything they’ll sit the election out and only dummies think not voting is better than voting. The majority of the black vote will still go to him because the alternative is Romney. If you decide not to vote for President Obama based on the one thing that doesn’t affect the economy or education something is already fucked up in your head anyway…Newt Gingrich is thrice married, dinosaur arms (McCain) said fuck you to his first wife and if these are the moral fibers of the US of All I’ll pass…GTFOHWTBS

  24. Speaking from the perspective of someone who “goodbye’d” marriage…

“It is my belief that every single citizen under the sound of my voice deserves the right to have someone tryin’ to cuddle next to them when they don’t want to be bothered and it’s already HOT as hell… I believe every person, man, woman, or, a little of both, deserves to WANT to go to happy hour with his friends after work, but has to go home instead ’cause some damn fool is either going to have a ‘tude when you get there, or they’re going to call every 5 minutes tryin’ to listen for “voices” in the background… I believe, that every person born in this country, or who makes this country their home has the right to let someone else’s 450 credit score, bring your 818 down to a 632… at the end of the day, I think everyone deserves the right to be miserable as the fuck I was!”

  26. I THINK IT’S PREMATURE TO BRING UP DIVORCE RATES, SAME SEX MARRIAGES HAVE NOT BEEN LEGAL OR DOCUMENTED LONG ENOUGH TO EVEN GATHER DIVORCE RATES-

THERE ARE NO INDICATORS THAT SAME SEX MARRIAGE WILL HAVE A LOWER DIVORCE RATE, I DON’T UNDERSTAND WHY FOLKS EVEN BRING UP DIVORCE IN THIS DEBATE

GIVE IT SOME TIME, I’M CERTAIN THEY ALSO WILL HAVE THEIR SHARE OF DIVORCES-REMEMBER PEOPLE ARE STILL PEOPLE, SAME SEX DOESN’T NECESSARILY EQUATE LONGEVITY

So what he supports same sex marriage it’s still up to certain states as to whether or not they will uphold it. Just like the King holiday some states still don’t observe it.
