Judge Sets $150,000 Bond for Zimmerman

The self-proclaimed neighborhood watch killer had a hearing in Seminole County Florida this morning, where a judge set his bond at $150,000.

Clad in a dark suite and a crisp white shirt and tie, Zimmerman appeared in court looking like a choir boy; as he apologized to Tracy and Sabrina Martin for killing their son Trayvon.

Zimmerman’s bond comes with the following stipulations: he must seek permission to travel out-of-state for his safety, when in my opinion, he’s safe nowhere at this point. Zimmerman has to have GPS monitoring system, no possession of firearms, no use of controlled substance and no contact with the victim’s family.

He must also meet with the state to be fitted for a GPS ankle bracelet, which means he most likely won’t be released until Monday. However, Zimmerman can be released by paying at least 15,000 which is 10% of his bond.

I agree Starr, I know Trayvon looks like a corpse, but what I was trying to say is that him coming to the bend of the will of the people has weighed on him. ( he never thought he would never face the music). Two weeks ago, he was like I don’t give a Fuck what yall say. I shot him and that is that, Sanford Cops got my back.

  4. Actually Zimmerman said: that he “didn’t know if (Martin) was armed or not.” See Transcript on CNN. I feel bad for him, but based on what I have seen in the media, he stalked Trayvon and in my opinion, he deserves to pay for this crime. I’m not too sure how I feel about him being released on a bond. Perfect timing for his apology to the Martins. His attorney is training him to be the model defendant.

  5. I was listening to the proceedings this morning. Is anybody familiar with FL law?

I found it odd that questions came up to daddyzimmerman regarding how much money he (the father) had and what assets etc.

LIKE WHO CARES IF YALL CAN’T AFFORD SHITT. Not I!

So, I guess my question is: Was this morning’s questioning/answering what determined this bond amount?

    1. @yasha: yes this bond hearing was to determine if he would receive one and how much…the judge is supposed to take into account everything, involvement with the community, ability to be a flight risk, his assets, previous criminal history, how heinous the crime was, etc

      Like

    2. @yasha the family is looked at as someone who may be able to pay for his bail…I def feel you but that is actuall the normal protocol

    3. Nicole, so what factors would have been considered to say NO BOND?

I am truly lost… Was it already common knowledge that he would indeed receive a bail bond, but this morning’s court was only to determine HOW MUCH?

  8. *ABC News reports it has exclusively obtained the above photo showing the bloodied back of George Zimmerman’s head – taken three minutes after he shot and killed Travyon Martin.

The image, seen above, shows blood trickling down the back of a man’s head from two cuts. It also shows a possible contusion forming on the crown of his head.

The person who took the photograph, asking not to be identified, told ABC News exclusively that they did not see the scuffle that night between Zimmerman and Martin, but did hear it. The person recalled seeing Martin’s prostrate body on the wet grass and said the gunpowder burns on Martin’s gray hoodie were clearly visible.

The photographer said that after the shooting, Zimmerman asked the photographer to call his wife. When the photographer asked him what to say, Zimmerman blurted out, “Man, just tell her I shot someone.”

Zimmerman told police that night that he shot and killed the unarmed teenager in self-defense after Martin punched him and pounced on him. Zimmerman told police that Martin then bashed his head into the concrete sidewalk during the altercation that took place in the gated community of the Retreat at Twin Lakes in Sanford, Fla.

The original police report that night notes that the back of Zimmerman’s head was wet, and that he was bleeding from the nose and head. He was not admitted to a hospital or given stitches the night of the incident.

Zimmerman was treated at the scene by paramedics, then cuffed and driven in a police cruiser to the Sanford police station. He was questioned for hours and later released. In police surveillance video obtained last month by ABC News, Zimmerman’s wounds are not apparent, and there were no bandages on his head.

Investigators have seen the photo. Martin family attorney Benjamin Crump is skeptical.

“How bad could it have been if they didn’t take him to the hospital [and] didn’t stitch him up,” he said in a statement to ABC News in response to the image. “The special prosecutor has seen all the evidence and still believes George Zimmerman murdered Trayvon Martin.”

Zimmerman’s bail hearing is currently underway in Sanford. The hearing could result in his being released from a Florida jail. The 28-year-old is being held on charges of second-degree murder for the Feb. 26 shooting of Martin, 17, which could carry a life sentence if he is convicted.

The sad part is that they are bringing this shyt up like it matters. Treyvon had every right to tag his azz. So what if his head was bleeding. If someone walks up to you outta the blue, u have a right to defend yourself. Zimmerman was not an officer of the law. U can’t use deadly force because u are losing a fight that you started. Zimmerman shot this kid because he thought he had the upper hand in the situation and when he realized he didnt he started shooting. Thats not self defense. He would have had all the defense he needed if he wouldve stayed in his damn car as instructed.

  15. Zimmerman picked a fight with Trayvon he thought he could take, started losing the fight, shot and killed the kid, and now claims self defense. You can’t start a fight, start losing and then claim self defense. He will get off we all know. Once he is back on the street, that is when the real trial will begin

    2. So Zimmermann got the worst end of it in a fight, it still doesn’t justify him killing an unarmed teenager, that he acknowledged on the 911 tape as being a young man in his teens. Must be nice to have the right paint job (physically) and get $150,000 bond.
