“Is Herman Cain The Next Black President Of These United States?”

Today, new polls show the former pizza maker surging ahead of President Obama and his closest GOP rival, Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney.

Whether Herman Cain’s surge in the polls is temporary or has staying power, he’s enjoying a big enough bounce to take a very slight lead over President Obama in a hypothetical 2012 matchup. At the moment, the Georgia businessman is the only Republican with a lead of any kind over Obama, although former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney has held a similar advantage several times and is currently trailing the president by just two points.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of Likely U.S. Voters shows Cain attracting 43% support, while Obama earns 41%.

According to Rasmussen Reports, Cain is tied with Romney for the lead in the race for the GOP presidential nomination.  Nobody else is even close at the moment.

Do you think Herman Cain can beat President Barack Obama in 2012? Talk to me people.

      @Flo,
I couldnt have said it better. I would support Sarah McPalin before I vote for this fool. At least I know the Obama’s are two great minds working together (Michelle is really the one running shit).

Now I don’t agree with how Obama is trying to compromise with the Repubs. but at least he is aware of the domino effect. No matter how many #’s or slogans they come up with the gap is not going to be filled until millionaires & billionaires pay their fair share, Wall Street stops playing “Big Bank Takes Little Bank,” and corporations are properly taxed.

They are hoping to snatch the black vote because they know we are not voting Republican unless its a black candidate (most of us). Knowing this man doesnt have a chance in hell of running this country.

Racism works perfectly when you put a Black face on it, huh? I used to think Blacks could’nt be racist (I believ racism is about power) but Herman Cain may be the 1st at something after all…cause he sure isnt the 1st stunt the Repubs have used. That title belongs to Palin.

It doesnt matter what these politicans promise during their campaign, once they get elected they are going to look out for the people that gave the most to the campaign and the people that they made all sort of promises to. It’s depressing just thinking about it.

I can agree, or completely disagree. When I hear people say they’ve been unemployed for 2-3 years…ur schittin me. not on my watch. I wish I would.

At some point we have to start looking at ourselves and accept the realization that our skills are obsolete, or at that of an 8th grader. If you go longer than 6 months on unemployed, I’m giving you the side-eye.

Folk better learn to dabble in different industries first, and wear many hats in those industries next. If nothing else speak another language and see how fast you get hired.

Have you ever been laid off or out of work for 6 months?
        ——————————————————–
Um, I was unemployed for 15 months. Now I was contracting but that is not the same as a full time perm. gig. And it took me 9 months to find a contracting gig.

My sister who is UNC educated (semi-ivy league) has been unemployed for almost 2.5 years. Not for lack of looking. And her skills can’t be THAT obsolete b/c she was employed with the same company for 15 years prior to her layoff. She can’t find work doing ANYTHING. Wal-Mart, receptionist, maybe. And she DID go back to school to get re-trained and now she is finished with THAT and still can’t find a job.

I am an HR major so please let’s debate.

      3. pink, I figured this much. Finding a job, especially in todays economy, isn’t that easy so it can easily take months to get a job. The job I’m working at didn’t give me an offer until 3 months after I applied and interviewed. It’s not as easy as it sounds especially depending on the field you’re in. So don’t be so quick to say that 6 months is too long.

      4. are people opposed to relocating? I’m not insensitive to the state of unemployment, trust me I’m not. I look at career ops in other states quite often. It’s amazing how many pages of ops come up in other states. But I’ve worn so many different hats, exposed to different apps that many companies use.

You gotta turn that into something. And I always do. When I hear interviews or read articles of execs saying they can’t fill positions because people aren’t qualified, I have to shrug my shoulders.

      5. People are not realizing that this is a whole new economy.. These corporations are sitting on their money and not hiring.. And yes there is discrimination and not just for race either…they are discriminating for age, weight, and for being unemployed in the first place. Lots of places will not hire anyone who is currently unemployed. Really it’s all a ruse they are sitting this out to get President Obama out. They are sitting on trillions of dollars. The people lucky enough not to have lost their jobs so far in this depression (yes depression no recession) don’t realize the game has changed. They still think it’s the days when just about anyone could waltz into mickey d’s or wal mart and get a job just to hold them over. Well Mickey d’s had over 1 million applications for 50,000 openings in April and Wal Mart can’t hire everybody and they really not interested in you and your masters degree cause they know you ain’t gonna stay. It’s very easy to be highly educated and experience and be unemployed for more that 2 years. In fact it’s more likely a person and their 2 or 3 degrees is unemployed cause the don’t want your educated azz threatening their position.

When he really should have the Bush attitude and hold his nuts and say NO we’re doing it this way! But first he needs to come up w/the right plan which he doesn’t have or hasn’t had in the last 3 yrs I’m tired of hearing “yes we CAN”! Gas prices are high, ppl still loosing their jobs, houses gettn foreclosed on and the ppl that are working still struggling to make it day to day!

  24. People want to call Barack Obama a house negro…if we’re going to use plantation slave analogy Herman Cain is the house negro who told on his own and got them lynched. Born in the field, he is the 5th generation posterity of a slave African and one of the first mayors of the town. His ancestors were encouraged to interbreed with non-mulatto and field slaves. As a youngster, the master recognized his ancestry, adorable looks, and his high I.Q. thus took him away from his mother, a field slave, into his home and educated him. He had to take the disposition as the tattle-tale negro because no one in the field had his back, as he’d made it clear that he was better than them. He could only trust himself and did whatever he had to in order to survive.

So it doesn’t matter what mask they put on the politics, government, of this country – a mulatto one or a black one. It doesn’t matter whether the black ancestry is native or foreign rooted, it’s still all the same ole bullshit.
