Pastor Michael Steven author of “Straight Up” said a lot of men in the black church who are on the down-low are in this struggle because they are not willing to deal with their homosexuality. This is due in part to the fact that, it’s not being dealt with in the black church.
Pastor Micheal answers the question as to what is fueling the epidemic of this down-low experience? These men are confused and dealing with a demonic influence and most churches aren’t equipped to deal with these issues that are plaguing the black community. This is why 90% of black women are HIV positive because they are married too or sleeping with homosexual men.
Pastor Michael Steven said “men who are on the down-low are half alive and half dead” God did not create man to be feminine nor did he create a man to be the receiver and that shouldn’t be the icon in America.

I don’t believe that stat about a third of black men are on the DL. I do believe that black women are getting HIV largely from straight men because they are not protecting themselves. There are a lot of folks engaging in Gay sex who quite frankly see themselves as Freaks and not gay. Someone once said, “Having sex with someone of the same sex, not does not make you Gay”. If a man is in prison for more than six months and is released here’s a list of things all women should require before having sex with them..
1. HIV/AIDS/STD test
2. Phone records from whereever he’s staying
3. Physical examination (a virgin anus looks a whole lot different than a “used” one.”
4. Watch gay porn with him and see if he gets turned on
5. Check his internet cache/e-mails/history for at least 3 months
6. Find him a job/get him in school
7. Bring him around your gay male friends
8. Abstain from sex until after all of these have been accomplished
