“If The Government Shuts Down Blame The Repubs”

80

April 6, 2011 by The ReadyWriter

It looks like the impending government shutdown will indeed occur on Friday, April 8, if the White House and the GOP don’t resolve their budget dispute. The problem is U.S. President Barack Obama’s refusal to approve the budget cuts that the Republicans want.

The government shutdown won’t affect U.S. President Barack Obama or anyone in Congress because they will still get paid.

But it will affect thousands of good people who go to work every day in non-essential services such as parks, museums, etc.

In the meantime, the Democrats are blaming the Republicans for being stubborn and the Republicans are blaming the democrats for not comprising.

Cynthia Tucker, the esteemed syndicated political writer for the Atlanta Journal Constitution, says if the shutdown occurs, blame House Speaker John Boehner and the GOP — not Obama.

More specifically, she points the finger of blame at “the entire far right-wing of the Republican Party” for demanding more than the $33 billion in cuts handed to them by the Democrats.

In the meantime, black people will have to scramble to make ends meet while these political millionaires take their vacations and toil in the hot sun practicing their golf swings during the shutdown.

The 2012 election will be a mess, so please vote responsibly when you go to the polls.

Off topic: So if a white person votes for another white person, they have a political stance, but if a black person votes (and happens to like) Obama, they’re blinded by skin tone and called kool-aid drinkers….Gotcha

And this is Obama’s fault… how??? Still waiting on Adam to answer.

The problem is that republicans are idiots and the only people that are affected by this are them! If the shut down does occur please believe they can kiss any hopes of winning the 2012 election.

This is another way of showing that Republican’s don’t give a damn about you…oh, well unless you have money…

As long as we permit our politicians to raise millions of dollars to “run” for a positions that pay $174,000, we will have members of congress who make decisions in favor of their benefactors/lobbyists, it doesn’t matter which party, or member, is to blame, the system is to blame…members of congress are for sale….limit political campaign spending to the pay of the position, reform the lobbying system and we would limit the amount of political bullshyt

Instead of pointing fingers, these fools need to fix the problem. If the government closes shop, all of us will be affected. The IRS will not process tax returns, the Small Administration will stop authorizing loans and federal home loan guarantees will cease. The Enviornmental Protection Agency will stop working on crucial energy related projects. U.S. troops in charge of protecting our country don’t get paid… This is ABSOLUTELY ridiculous!!!

Obama DID approve the cuts that the Repubs asked for. He even gave them an EXTRA almost $1 billion in cuts. The PROBLEM is that yesterday, when presented with the cuts that they asked for (and were given), Boehner decided that he would spring on them and ask for an ADDITIONAL $7 billion in cuts.

However- I’m willing to be he retracts that because hours after that meeting, Boehner was hard at work trying to get the Tea Party to see that asking for the extra 7 was pushing it, and that if a shutdown occurs- the Repubs have no SHOT in HELL of winning the next election.

  12. Man-Up says:

Senator Boehner is the one who can’t seem to decide if he wants be a decisive, strong leader or be a pawn for the tea party croonies.

It’s the tea party that has him hemmed up by the neck and balls – trying to force him to implement these crazy azz cuts. And it’s the tea party who doesn’t care who it hurts… They want to get rid of EVERYTHING that’s seemingly BIG GOVERNMENT and be clear – not all BIG Government is bad. Boehner needs to step aside or do what’s right. The Dems are working with him and they even sympathize but they refuse to be bullied at the cost of hurting hardworking people. This shyt is disgusting!

    LMAO!

Want some good reading? Read over GOP’s Paul Ryan’s proposed 2012 budget! 🙂

    His proposal:
    – Cut Medicare substantially
    – Cut Medicaid substantially
    – Those over 55 on Medicaid would go from having to contribute 0% to their expenses to 60%.
    – Cut taxes by 10% for the top earners in the country
    – Raise taxes on the rest yearly until the deficit is smaller
    – Drastically cut the Pell Grants program
    – Eliminate the EPA
    – Reduce fed staff by only hiring one new fed employee for every three who retire
    – Require Fed workers to start having to contribute 6% of their own salary to their retirement instead of having it govt matched.
    – Drastically reduce and or elminate many of the “social service” programs, first being the Food Stamp voucher program
    – Privatize Medicaid

🙂 They’re going to all but tell most poor folks to their face: we don’t give a fukk if you live, die, eat or learn in the meantime, we just need to keep the folks at the top so rich that YOU can’t get there.”

    How…bold?!

If politicians stop trying to add fillers to everything, this wouldn’t be happening. What does abortions have to do with government spending. “Boner” is a joke, he is a crazy, crazy man. They say they care about government workers, but the fact NO ONE can set aside party lines, shows something different. As I said before, I believe it is a ploy to for Republicans to take control over the White House, Senate, and House.

How the fu@k can closing the federal govt, especially when govts around the world are faltering, how can it help our economy? (How will we look to the rest of the world?) There will definitely be a trickle down effect and others will suffer besides govt workers, especially here in DC. Those Tea Party Fu@kers make me sick. I just say a CNN pic of about 15 white male Republicans from the House of Rep, all relatively young(under 40) They actually looked like white thugs, like Nazis ready for the kill. I tell you, we need more women in Congress, any color will do. We know how to handle domestic issues! We know how to make a dollar holla! I’m outta here. God bless America!
