“Bill Cosby Told Russell Simmons To Shut”

The fuck up!!!

Really? Not the clean-cut comedian and famous father from the 80’s hit television series, “The Cosby Show?” Well, according to Russell Simmons, he did.

This verbal backlash supposedly went down at the Jackie Robinson Annual Awards Dinner on March 7., held at the Waldorf-Astoria. Simmons tried to apologize to Cosby for their ongoing beef.

The two have been sparring since 2009, when Cosby launched his “State of Emergency” campaign promoting socially conscious rap music without lyrics celebrating violence, sex or the degradation of women.

Simmons heavily criticized the effort, but tried to make amends with Cosby at the dinner.

“I wanted to find him to apologize, to tell him I was sorry about my statements and to tell him that I loved him,” the rap mogul wrote on his blog, Globalgrind.com but instead, according to Simmons, Cosby said, “Get the “fuck” out my face!” …..Whoa!

Simmons also wrotes that Cosby “walked by me and bumped me with his shoulder as I walked offstage after presenting my award to Sean Combs, who was honored at the event . . .I then loved him even more.”

Through a rep, Cosby had this to say, “I don’t want to discuss it.”

      1. I think Mr. Simmons is a good business man but I think he has interpersonal issues in the fact that, he cannot date a woman his age.

        It shows there is an issue in dealing with someone on a personal level that is totally unequally yoked.

  9. I have mixed feeling about Bill. I didn’t have an issue with any if his comments on the black community. He was right and people need to stop making excuses. My only issue is when it comes to the entertainment biz. I always found it stance how judgmental he is considering all the movies he did with Sidney that promotes stealing and conning people to get by.

    If you wanna talk about it, set the example first.

  14. Bill is 40 Years too late with this. Why didn’t try to create a movement when He was at His peak of popularity? Why? cause He wanted to make MONEY. Now he damn near senile he wanna make a difference. Do Something when your POWER & FAME is at it’s Peak!

      Cosby was making his money back in the 50’s and 60’s it’s a different day now, a different generation, with different issues., that’s why he has something to say. Rap music was prevelent back in the day, they had other issues like race and segregation. When you “have a voice” you rise to the occassion and that’s what he did.

        @ADRIANE, Bill was at the peak of his popularity in the 1980’s – early 90’s when rap was still pure & innocent for the most part. And for the record, Bill first started this campaign nearly 15 years ago–he didn’t just start talking about rap music last week.

  16. What Bill Cosby keeps talking about plaguing the black community through the glamorizing of rap music and those rappers are true…

    When did it become acceptable to live like thigs in the black community? And this is what he is saying IMO…

    I don’t know what the numbers are but:

    a.) the percentages of unwed mothers are high

    b.) the number of blacks not marrying in order to establish and maintain stable homes…

    c.) The facts- fugures about our earnings power and spending are high.

    You can tell alot about someone by how they spend their money and time. These numbers speak volumes as to who are now or will become a millionair as a people..
